Rock Band makes it to Australia, forgets luggage
For those of you who don't know, Australia is still waiting on Rock Band -- for any console. In fact, Australia is waiting without a release date ... until sort of now. Despite the fact that local online store DVD Crave lists Rock Band for an October 10th release, nothing is set in stone until we actually see it on the shelves. In fact, it appears Rock Band is only listed as a "game only" item. You can't exactly start a band with no instruments.
DVD Crave is known for selling imported games, but the region says PAL right there. We're not sure how they plan to sell the game without instruments, unless it's a special version -- saucepan and air guitar compatible. Still, the release window is the important part, so we'll soon have all the details on how to buy the full Rock Band bundle in the country Harmonix forgot.

They sell the Wii and PlayStation 3 versions without instruments in the United States also...
It doesn't make a lot of sense, since neither of those are compatible with Guitar Hero guitars, like the XBox 360.

maybe if your disk broke or something? always good to have the option...
also, now with stand alone instruments, if you truly ONLY want one instrument, it's cheaper to buy just that instrument and the game.

The Australian EB Games site had Rock Band listed as a December 1st release, but now it says September 2008. But only for PS2, PS3 and 360. It would be nice for a definite date...

This could be a similar situation to Europe, where the game and instrument packs are sold separately, both for ridiculously inflated prices.
Video games are one of the few things that make me happy I don't live in Europe.

Don't you mean 1st October? In the rest of the world, it goes DMY, or in this case, YMD.
