Animal Crossing Wii @ E3 FTW ZOMG ... maybe
Tom West of Official Nintendo Magazine went ahead and stated in his blog that "Animal Crossing Wii wil be unveiled at the conference." Referring to E3, of course. Top brass probably had an issue with this particular choice of words, and the blog entry now reads "everyone is hoping that Animal Crossing Wii will be there." Too late, hot plate! You can't outrun the internet, don't even try.Adding even more fuel to the fire, GAF'ers discovered Nintendo Norway has listed Animal Crossing on its 2008 release list, meaning we see game --> wait a short period of time for game --> buy game. Not a bad sequence of events, don't you think?
Our rapid-fire E3 coverage will be starting very soon, so stick around for all the latest on Animal Crossing Wii and other games featuring utopian societies of anthropomorphic creatures.

I believe it's zippity doo-dah zippity-ay, but I guess it doesn't really matter.
And yes, E3 is looking good if they actually come through with all the "big stuff" they've been telling us about. They haven't really said anything of substance yet to justify this excitment, which I guess is the plan. . . and it's working. Oh well, I kind of like this dramatic and secretive style Nintendo has- it makes for a great show. :)

It's about time this game even appeared back on the radar!

Let's just hope there's an actual big upgrade to the game as opposed to the GameCube to DS transition. The biggest change in that was being able to change your hair (and no, half-assed online doesn't count~). I know people are saying it's going to be heavily focused on community, but I have my doubts. I just want the franchise to stay relevant, because it was like my favorite GameCube game and the DS one ended up being a disappointment.

Not to mention how the neighbors were a lot more interactive... as well as having more items, and being able to see the furniture you gave to your neighbor (as opposed to the GC version, where you'll NEVER see them use the furniture).
Also not to mention the large amount of save-space for your clothing designs. (GC version was limited)
Despite all that, I didn't enjoy the DS version (my gf loves it though)...
The more "interactive" the neighbors got, the less "real" they felt to me. It's as if they were trying too hard to be an individual, they just didn't feel safe to be around. Crazy freaks.
I say let it be more like the GC version... less gimmicks, more options. And PLEASE, let the neighbors go back to normal. *sigh* I don't want to be stuck in a town full of crazies.

What clothing save space? The DS had practically no clothing save spaces, the gamecube had a huge space for saving clothes. And I thought the online was excellent, seriously just look at all the people saying myspace should be banned, and without security we have gameshark people destroying our towns and bricking our DS :'(

You're right. Must've gotten the two confused.
Though... the DS did have a HUGE closet-space. Gigantic.

You forgot the neighbors giving you their pictures... I thought that was the single biggest improvement.
I'm sooooo excited :D I went to two of my animal crossing towns last night

Can't wait!
I had so many good times in ACWW online and off!

Love it on the DS. It would be great if the Mii's could also appear in game.
Would also be nice if you could get in a boat and go out on the river/sea to fish or drive a car around if there was a "city" town.
Would buy this in a heartbeat.

Somebody's gonna get fired, that's for sure
I just hope this isn't the limit of what we get at E3. This alone would be somewhat disappointing, i think.

Futurama quote FTW! That's one of my favorite episodes too.

This will probably be that "big game" that Reggie was talking about, a bit disappointing. Animal Crossing is a heavy hitter, but I was kinda hoping for a Kid Icarus or new IP. Can't rule those out yet, but it's pretty unlikely.
