Wii Warm Up: Mii Maker
We used to make a lot of Miis, and solicit Miis from you guys, too. Lately, however, we've hardly touched our big-headed avatars. When was the last time you made a Mii, and what was it? Do you enjoy Mii challenges, or has that ship sailed for you?

I still jump on the Check Mii Out channel once in a while. I cast my vote in contest judgings for the least appropriate Miis I can find, and enter every open contest by submitting whatever self-made Mii I happen to have laying around.
It's a great joy seeing a hideous, two-nosed abomination doing its little damndest trying to run up to the top of the results graph in the contest for "Juliet".

My in-laws were visiting me recently so, of course, they needed their own Mii's. After creating those, I then went in an tweaked mine own Mii. My hair has gotten pretty long since I initially created the little guy, so that needed to be changed.

I fluctuate between full beard and stubble a lot.
I've been away from home for a few months so I'll have to update my Mii when I get back in August. Change it from horrifically to fat to descicatedly thin.

I play with my Mii's when guests are over that haven't yet created one.
The last time I modified my Mii was when I got it in February of last year.
I do the Check Mii Out, but only put in a Mii I know that's not going to win, and doesn't fit the theme.

I've gotten bored of the Mii Channel. I remember the last time using it was on New Years Eve. I believe it is from the serious lack of options. Nintendo could easily make an update available with more options, but they haven't for some reason.

When the info for the 360 Avatars were leaked, I noticed that the Boxer guy had the exact same facial features that could be found in the Mii creator. So I went and made him.

I made a Chef Duff Mii last week... he owns Charm City Cakes and can be seen on "Ace of Cakes" on the Food Network. My wife will get a laugh when he shows up tossing hula hoops at her on Wii Fit!

I got sick of seeing the same miis from crappy tv shows so I started making miis from my favourite show - The Wire.

I look at the Check Mii Out channel every once in a while, but I haven't made any Miis in a loooong time. Every once in while if I think about it I'll edit my Mii after a haircut or something. But all in all... not so much.
They totally need a firmware update with more options for Mii customization. Then I might be interested again.

I made a David Letterman Mii a few months ago, but that's about it. I deleted the Check Mii Out channel to make room for the Nintendo Channel.

I actually recently realized that I hadn't made a Mii in a while, so one evening I caught up and made Miis for all the friends I've made in real life since I stopped making Miis. Made some tweeks to some old friends too. It was still fun!
James @ Jul 3rd 2008 11:39AM
I still think it would have been nice to get more content as you bought games, for example Super Mario Galaxy would unlock a Mario cap, etc.

The last time I made a new Mii was when Mario Kart came out. Prior to that it had been months since playing with Mii's. There just aren't enough games that support the Mii's. I don't really participate in the challenges because building a new Mii to fit the challenge is usually too difficult for my skill and I don't want to take the time. But I do enjoy voting for the challenges and seeing the results...yeah, I'm a moocher.
I think the Mii's are a good idea but aren't worth the trouble since the only games that use them are first-party titles. I don't know if that's by choice from third-parties or if they just aren't allowed to use the Mii's...or just don't want to.

I just got a Wii not too long ago, so the Check Mii Out channel hasn't worn out it's fun level for me yet. Just recently I snagged a really well made Hellboy Mii, which is fun to use with the Mii Outfit in Mariokart.

oops, double post

The contests kind of suck due to the number of 'fake' entries. It's even worse when there's something stupid like a dark skinned woman in an Abe Lincoln contest. There's just too much crap.

My Check Mii Out Channel was deleted a long time ago, the last time I made a Mii was when Mario Kart Wii came out and I remade my Mii just smaller so he could fit in the small carts. But other then that I probably haven't used Mii channel in a bout a year or so when I might have had a friend over who never played Wii and wanted to make one so they could play Wii Sports.

I made one a few days ago... for Pokemon Ranch.
You know, that game people complain about, yet they're not even forced to buy it.
I still need to make five more...
...five more that aren't creepy-looking in a ranch full of cute monsters.
Shalan @ Jul 3rd 2008 7:07PM
I wish they would add more content to make Miis with. My Mii doesn't look like me at all. There's a fair number of choices, but I'm bored of them. I wish we could download more options.

I haven't made a mii in a while, mainly because there's not much variety in them. Nintendo should update the Mii channel to allow you to put say clothes on the mii, more face objects and all that stuff.
Seriously Nintendo, you can do this, and then simply make it compatable with newer games. Older games shouldn't be an issue because it copies your mii exactly from the mii plaza or overights the clothes that it wears (ie mario and sonic at the olypmics don't show pink covererd skin do they?)
Look at the ps3, they're now implenting something like Mii's, but of more variety and looks way better. Keep up with the trends Nintendo otherwise opportunities to stay on top are going to pass you by and the other companies will fly past.
