DS Daily: What color do you bleed?

It's been awhile since we asked you, and what with our community growing all the time, we figured it was time we discussed what model DS Lite you've gone with. Were you there for the first handhelds to release locally, or could you not simply wait and just had to import one like, say, the Enamel Navy model? Are you still rocking the Phat? How's your handheld situation?

Uhm, wouldn't it make sense to add a poll to this article? Or are there too many DS colors to list them all?

Anyway, mine is a standard Coral Pink Lite.

I have a release day crimson/black that I got with Brain Age 2. My sister has pink, my niece does also, and my nephew has black. I always want to get mine engraved at NintendoWorld but I just haven't made it into the city.

I was thinking of selling my white DS lite for a pink version, but it's not a real priority right now. Especially when my current DS is perfectly functional, for now.

I never had a phat.

Polar White lite at launch.

Hinge cracked.

Traded up for an Onyx.

Got a Zelda Limited last November.

Traded up the Onyx for a Cobalt Blue.

So, right now, It's the Zelda and Cobalt Blue models I use.

I had a DS Phat, sold it. Had a polar white DS Lite, sold it. I currently own a Cobalt/Black DS Lite and have no intentions of getting rid of it.

Man I've gone through quite a few I had the standard silver I got on launch day then I got a Japanese pearl white phat one it arrived, get this, the day before the announcment of the Lite :(

So I got a white Lite on euro launch which sadly fell very quickly into a wall while playing Trauma Center grrr then I bought a Black lite to replace it and for the last few months the hinge has been broken so I recently got myself one of the pure red ones that came out at the start of june and it's awesome. Makes me feel sorry for you American guys :D

I have an Onyx Black DS Lite, but I wanted that Nintendo from America and Europe stop to make new editons for DS Lite (like the red or cobalt colour), and bring the best and wordeful Enamel Navy colour =( !

I still got my Hot Rod Red DS Phat. I play alot of GBA games, which make the phat more worth while to me. although... that red european DS sure is tempting...

Ice blue for me ever since I laid my eyes on that thing. Good thing it was easy to find locally. I'm also wanting the green or yellow though since this one already has a crack on the hinge.

i had the original silver DS the day of release, then got my money back cuz one of the shoulder buttons stopped working, so i went and bought the mariokart DS bundle with the sexy hot-rod red DS... then i found out that a new DS was comin out so i got it, too.

I've had the electric blue phatty, polar white lite, crimson/black and the blue/black. I ebayed all but the blue/black which is now my wife's. Love the fact that these retain their value on ebay so that I can buy a newer color whenever I feel like it.

Zelda Edition bought on Black Friday '07. I got the last one in stock from my local gamestop about 30 mins from closing time. Never saw it on store shelves again anywhere so I consider myself lucky.

Uhm...Way back in the day I "borrowed" my friend's original silver phat. After 'bout 4 months he decided he missed it so I had to give it back. I ended up buying the teal Nintendogs phat 'cos I'd never seen anyone with the color before! Just left the decals in the trash.

Then when lites came out, I didn't get one for a while 'til I saw the Ice Blue... This was back in '05 or something. I decided I must have it because it was like my phat so I bought it and it's lovely. Everyone used to compliment me on it... but now it's gonna be all over the place so :P

Hinge crack doesn't bother me but losing the rare item status does. I'd like a purple one :)

I have the crimson & black DS. Barely managed to get it because every store I went to after Christmas had sold out. While at Wal*Mart, they had apparently sold out till I spotted a box behind the counter and asked if anyone claimed it. Apparently not, and it's against store policy for them to "hold" anything, so I scored it.

I'm still rocking the "Go faster" Red DS Phat. I can't see any real reason to sidegrade to a Lite.

DS Lite Cobalt/Black. For my money, the best-looking one available anywhere, though the Zelda whore in me kind of wishes I could have gotten my hands on that one. The only thing that could get me to consider a new DS Lite would be if Nintendo released an NES-controller throwback like they did for the SP. Otherwise, I'm not big on hardware double-dipping.

Picked up a Black just prior to Diamond/Pearl's release.

Since then, my local EB has offered $100 trade in on Lites twice, so I now have a Crimson/Black and a Cobalt/Black.

I have an original Silver DS that I got for Christmas 2004 and a Pok�mon Dialga & Palkia DS Lite I got back in May 2007...I also have 49 DS games ^_^

And I am completely baffled as to why so many of you have multiple DSes...I can understand replacing a broken one, or upgrading from a phat to a lite, but other than that, it seems odd to spend money on a new DS if your current one works fine, just so you can have a new color. Do you need a different one for each outfit, or something?
