Wii Warm Up: Once, it was small
When the Wii was released, it was small, especially compared to the behemoth consoles manufactured by the competition. But after the wheel and the zapper and digging out the GameCube controllers, and finding a place for the balance board -- and don't forget, you'll need those maracas, too -- does it feel like the tiny system has grown a little? Is it taking over the living room? How do you manage all the extras?

I don't have MK or WiiFit, so the only peripheral I need to worry about is the GH3 guitar.

Hehe... I'm so sad that I don't own any of the other systems right now. I bought a Wii thinking it'll be enough but after playing Burnout Paradise at friends house yesterday, I'm just craving for more! It's funny how on PS3Fanboy they're going insane over the new 2.40 update and on 360 fanboy they always have some rumors going for the system but here, us Wii owners have to think about where we should place our next plastic mold! Wish I had more damn cash! I really want to play some more games and the Wii isn't enough at the moment...

I have an old wooden chest I use for games/movies/controllers/peripheral storage. Doubles as my living room coffee table. I also have an ottoman that opens up and doubles as storage; triples as a TV tray. The balance board, when I get one, can fit under my entertainment center.
It is a bit much, and I hope developers don't start including peripherals unless they really add something to the game. I could do without the maracas, just let me use my imagination. Same goes for those Nerf and Dreamgear packs. I'm not a big enough nerd to want to play Zelda with a foam sword.

I can push the balance board under my entertainment center, and the GC, CC and Wheel all go in a compartment in said entertainment center.
Thank God I don't have Guitar Hero or Rock Band or I'd be screwed.
But yeah....there's way too many add-on's at this point. I wish Nintendo would at least make it so you can use the Classic Controller for Gamecube games. That would definitely clear up SOME clutter.

The balance board is up against the side of my bookcase and all the other controllers, Wii Wheels, battery charger, etc... are in a storage tote that sits on a shelf of my bookcase. I got it from Target for like $15.

easy... I don't buy 'em. I've made it through umbrella cronicles just fine without a zapper, and wii fit doesn't make sense to buy since it...well... doesn't make you fit. Mario Kart can be bought without the wheel (used) so i'm set.

What's funny is I bought this nice silver briefcase style case to carry my Wii around in. And it does fine with 2 Wiimotes and 2 nunchuks.
Unfortunately, add in 2 Zappers, 2 Wii Wheels, 2 Classic Controllers, and a Balance Board soon and I've had to purchase a backpack to carry the peripherals around in. I'd still like to have 2 more Wiimotes and 2 Perfect Shots to add to my collection but that's going to have to wait for some more money.
Patius @ Jun 30th 2008 11:02AM
Simple, don't get all of the extras.
I just have the wheel.
Nick @ Jun 30th 2008 11:09AM
There's always room for Nintendo.
NIN-TEN-DO - it's alliiiivee.

Wait until GH:WT hits and we will all be F'ed!!!
KittieChan @ Jul 1st 2008 5:10PM
is it bad that I interpreted GH:WT as Guitar Hero: White Trash. My bad. :)
Synthex @ Jun 30th 2008 11:16AM
GH 3 Controller is behind my bed, Balance Board stands between couch and wardrobe, Zapper and 2. Wii Wheel atop some books an a shelve and Wiimotes+NC+CC + 1. Wii Wheel on the TV rack.
So...everything is stuffed neatly in every hole I could find.
Luke @ Jun 30th 2008 1:10PM
That's what she said.
Synthex @ Jun 30th 2008 3:22PM
Haha...but I didn't want it to sound like that.
I'm German, so... my Englisch is not that good :-))

Balance board is kept underneath the living room coffee table. I rotate the table if I just want to do the body test; I fully move the table if I'm doing a training session.
What I need to find space for is my two sets of gc bongos.

I traded my 360 for my Wii a while back and one of the things that came with it was the zapper. I played Umbrella Chronicles with it at first and it felt uncomfortable so I finished with out it. I'll hang onto it until I try House of the Dead 2 and 3 return. I hope Call of Duty World at War uses it in cool ways. If not I'll get rid of it then. I have the zapper, two Wavebirds, two Wiimotes, and a Nunchuk sitting on my coffee table. When I get the other games I want I don't know where I'll put everything. Guitar Hero: World At Tour, Mario Kart, and another Nunchuk. I'll have to get another guitar when the game comes out too. Ugh.
Sonic_13 @ Jun 30th 2008 1:36PM
It may have a lot of peripherals, but the Wii combined with the Wheel and Zapper is still smaller than an Xbox360. Plus I'm not sure if it is exactly fair to count things like Rock Band/Guitar Hero controllers since all systems have those.
All my controllers (except the Balance Board) fit in a single drawer. They include:
(4) Wii Remotes
(3) Nunchuks
(2) Wii Wheels
(1) Zapper
(1) GameCube controller.
I only need the GCN controller if I'm playing a GCN game.
J @ Jun 30th 2008 2:09PM
Nothing compared to the clutter of my Rock Band peripherals.
FantomRedux @ Jun 30th 2008 8:16PM
I've had the Wii Wheel, but traded MK Wii in for SSBB. Until then my Wiimote and nunchuck were kept in my Zapper, still are actually, and my Wheel was..... somewhere. Never really used any of them since all I played as Melee :) Not gettin Wii Fit because I have the ability to do exercise myself, and if I get GH3 I'll get it on 360. DLC FTW :P

Not that bad for me, the Wii is on the bottom shelf of my DVD/bookshelf, and the balance board slides nicely under the TV table. Oh, the other thing? Real men use a GC controller :-)
jay942942 @ Aug 11th 2008 6:27AM
Wii's next to my TV, my balance board is in a cupboard under my TV, along with four wii wheels, four classic controllers, four wiimotes and four gamecube controllers and a single Wii Zapper plus a pair of Perfect shots, with a Guitar Hero 3 Wii controller.
The games for my Wii, DS and PSP are also in there along with loads of DS/PSP peripherals.
