DSVision card available for import this week
The DSVision flash card kit, containing an officially Nintendo-approved flash card and a 512 MB MicroSD card, will be released to Japanese stores on July 3. NCSX is charging 40.90, and Play-Asia is asking $39.90. That's not terribly expensive for a flash card with bundled memory, but it is quite expensive for something that may end up being totally useless.
Unless you have access to a Japanese credit card, you won't be able to buy any of the content that AM3 is selling through the system. And who knows if the thing will be usable for any kind of homebrew? It'll take experimentation from homebrew developers before anyone knows. Feeling adventurous?

YES! I can't wait to try this out. I don't care if it doesn't work, I just want one!
Kind of like how Satellaview for the Super Famicom is coveted, who knows how this will turn out in years to come? *goes to order*

I predict that the rom for the DS Vision will be dumped and consequently hacked to run on other flash carts with DLDI patches of some sort.
Simon @ Jul 1st 2008 3:49AM
And what would be the point of that?
RupeeClock @ Jul 1st 2008 4:26AM
Sometimes, hackers just like to do these sorts of things out of interest.

You don't hack for the results. You hack for the sake of hacking. It's kind of like fishing. You might not catch a fish all day, and it really doesn't matter.
Still, I'll pass on this one. I'm perfectly happy with my CycloDS!

Yeah, we don't know, what this card can do, but my R4 is still top of the line flashcard. The only difference is this is LEGAL
Eli @ Jul 1st 2008 4:57PM
The R4 hasn't been top-of-the-line for months.

R4? M3 Simply? They're both nearly dead.
M3 REAL is the new kid on the block, so is the new Sakura Firmware.
8GB SDHC support? Mental, I can stick all my videos in there.
Toxic @ Jul 4th 2008 2:04PM
I'd like to import it.
