Suggestions for catering a Wii party
A nice side effect of the Wii's expansion of the gaming audience is that people with skills and interests outside of video games have begun applying their expertise to our hobby. In this case, it means good food for once instead of the normal junk that fuels the stereotypical gaming lifestyle.Chow.com has posted a list of delicious-looking recipes that is, in their estimation, ideal for Wii parties in two ways:
- It can all be eaten one-handed, leaving a free (or at least clean) waggling hand
- They're organized into nutritional groups designed to sustain lots of energy over time

Oh this is ace. I'm having a party in a few days, I'll be sure to take note of this. I hate when people eat then play with greasy fingers >.

Food in bowls is pretty one-handed, things like popcorn, potato chips/crisps, nuts, candies.
Grab a handful, munch down, and keep on playing!

I agree with the one handed-ness of snacks. However, I have a question:
What games to play? I am currently looking for decent multiplayer games. Aside from Brawl, a few WiiWare multiplayer games, and WiiSports, I am clueless as to what to get.
Any suggestions? (BTW, I am also in desperate search for MKWii, so that one will be checked off the list soon.)

Some other good multiplayer games are Rayman Ravin Rabbids 1 & 2,Mario & Sonic At The Olympic Games,Mario Strikers Charged,Guitar Hero,Rock Band,Smarty Pants,Mario Party 8,Dance Dance Revolution Hottest Party and Sega Superstar Tennis. All my friends have really enjoyed these at parties and get togathers that I've had. Your gonna love Mario Kart Wii once you pick it up.

I've run a couple of Wii parties and the easiest thing to do is order takeout pizza. The topping options cater for all tastes.
If you invite more than 4 people then there will be plenty of time when people are standing around and they can eat then.
Not to mention the fact that eating whilst playing generally tends to get food all over the carpet, make your controllers messy and give people indigestion.
