Wii releases in Taiwan next month
Following its recent release to Korea, Nintendo has made an official announcement that the console will now also release in Taiwan. On July 12th, gamers will be able to nab a Wii of their very own. And, even better than the Japanese, their console will come bundled with Wii Sports.
Do you think sales will be as poor as Korea?

Do I think sales will be as bad? What I think is that it is still very hard to find one of these things, at least in my state it is. Nintendo should focus on their primary markets until they can provide the number of Wiis needed to at least almost meet demand! All of my local game stores sell out in about 45 minutes after getting their Wii shipments, and Wall*Mart sells out in less then four hours on a slow day.
Aside from that I think it's a waste of time. Korea and Taiwan have been left out of home consoles for a long time. Their primary video game market consists down-loadable MMO's and the like. If Nintendo wants to get on over there, they had better get with MMO's big time.
All of that is my badly researched opinion. Going into the 2nd year of Wii, and I still cant find one!

An official release in Taiwan was promised for years, yet when it is finally released, it is still a second-class product. The menus are still in Japanese, not translated into Chinese. No weather, news, tv or Shop. More expensive than the parallel imported Japan version. I don't expect anyone to buy it.

When your already having shortages in areas, is expanding to more really the best idea?
