DS Daily: Lasting multiplayer

Which DS games do you find have the best multiplayer? What with us taking part in Game Night every week, we're pretty sure we have a grasp on what games have great online multiplayer, but what about local? What about both?
What DS games have had the most memorable multiplayer experience in your eyes? Tetris DS? Advance Wars: Days of Ruin? Mario Kart DS?

New Super Mario Brothers for the cutthroat star-collecting game and Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime for the epic tank battles.
And Geometry Wars Galaxies has excellent multiplayer...my son and I have the most fun with versus. He always wants to play the enemies, of course. I rarely, rarely ever win that mode, which might be some of the appeal for him.
Oh, and the Bomberman games for obvious reasons. It's Bomberman!

Definitely Bomberman. A single-cart 8-way multiplayer is nothing less than amazing.
I'd also have to throw in Children of Mana. The single-player gets really repetitive, but running around with your friends and bashing monsters into each other is quite a lot of fun.
Jump Ultimate Stars has to be on this list. Although it never released in the US, it's Super Smash Bros.-like fighting style and with all the characters you can develop and play, it's a must for multi-player.

Mario Kart DS is the one I enjoyed the most.
Haven't tried JUS in multiplayer mode yet.

When i first got my DS, spent alot of time in multiplayer (i was in jazz band - had to go to all basketball games - had friends who also had DS's - and before/after school)
the games we played the most in order probably
1-Mario Kart
2-Metroid
3-Meteos
4-Wario Ware (puff-puff-pass style)

Mario Kart for me. Playing three player Kart - yes, only three people are willing to play - can't be beat. I can't imagine how fun eight player would be.

We've had the most fun with AW:DoR, Clubhouse Games, and Geometry Wars. You'd think Mario Kart would be a hit but somebody always forgets his cart and doesn't want to be Shyguy.

I used play back in 6th form college days around when mario kart released all of us on our phat DS'( i guess im getting old already?) 8 way mario kart we all had our own carts too so all tracks etc so it was real fun probably the best fun ive ever had, nothing beats playing with 7 other friends in 1 race. played it for weeks! We never got a chance with any other game as its usually hard to get so many people with the same game, only few got Metroid never did play that multiplayer. ohh well gud times.

I haven't really had a chance to do DS multiplayer, typically because one or more of the following:
1) I don't know anybody within 100 miles who owns a DS.
2) I don't have any of the same games as people I know who do have a DS.
3) The games I do have in common with other people I know either are LAN multiplayer only, or have only a very rudimentary WiFi (trade items or send Moogle Mail)
4) Whenever I play WiFi with people I don't know, the match always ends before it's over due to people dropping out. Especially if I happen to be winning.
All in all I'm very unpleased with Nintendo's online "service" because they seem to think the USA is Japan, with five billion people all living in a ten square mile radius.
And their special events show a similar mentality. Events only in New York and California? (Smash Bros. Tournament)

Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates is really excellent in multiplayer. Only problem is that everyone needs a copy of the game.
There is a great sense of adventuring together, and there are lots of multiplayer quests to partake in.
