Super Mario RPG to take starring role on Japanese VC next week

Happily, Super Mario RPG is specifically dated for release on the 24th. According to Nintendo's page about the VC release, Square Enix retains rights to their original characters, which helps explain why it's taken so long to appear on the VC.
Super Mario RPG will be joined by Phantasy Star IV, Paranoia, and Ninja Commando (which is a pretty good title for a game that is basically Commando with ninjas).

If you haven't played the game, you have no idea how great it is, and thus would also not know who Frog is. Do a bit of research before you bash a game, will ya? This came out when I was like an early teenager.. how do you people NOT know what this game is?

in fact you are incorrect mallow isn't a frog but a cloud person he just got raised as among frogs and also believed himself a frog.
also i can't wait this was great game i had it on my SNES back then but i loaned it to friend and i never got it back.

Yeah, Mallow is a prince if I remember correctly. You have to fight some boobed lady and her fat Raven to get it back though.

Mallow was never a frog, but since Frogfucious raised him, he was always told he was a "frog" until he learned the truth of his parents, who are cloud people. What's up with Square Enix, I thought that they were, 1 - Didn't want to release RPGs for the VC games "because the want to focus on new games/remakes" and 2 - I thought Nintendo owned the rights to Mario RPG. If they don't release it on the US/Europe VC, so help me, there's gonna be h*** to raise.

Am I old or something? Perhaps it was just beyond their time. I remember this game from when I was a child, and man oh man did I want it bad. It's definately a classic in my book.

I doubt this will be seen by many but I bought this for SNES when it was something like $65 or $70 bucks. I had to have been around 10 or so and it was worth every penny back then. I still own it and it's in mint. Such a great game.
