Ubisoft announces Play Zone, we die a little inside
Ubisoft has continued on its quest to make us sneer at almost everything it attempts by announcing "Play Zone," a new Wii-exclusive division focused on "party games." Hey, we hear it's what's hot nowadays! Ubisoft's first contribution to this festival of mediocrity is Sports Party or, as North American readers will know it, Digital Embryo's Summer Sports: Paradise Island, which Ubisoft has snapped up the European publishing rights to.
Says Ubisoft marketing director John Parkes: "With our new Play Zone party titles, the Wii gamers who like to spend time with friends and family will have fun with the Wii through innovative and involving mini-games." Join us in the gallery and we'll all hold each other and cry.

I don't know whats worse- That Ubisoft is releasing another crap minigame compilation, or that their first release in a line devoted to crap minigame compilations is simply a retitled shoddy game that they could have easily seen got horrendous reviews.
Its one thing to make an uninspired game, I mean at least theres some effort put into it. Its a whole other thing to look at an uninspired game, notice how awful it is and then thinking "Hey I could probably sell this"

Really, why can't they just stop making Wii games!? I hope each and every game in the Play Zone flops. Given their track record, they'll be no good anyways. Using Wii shovelware dollars to fund AAA HD console content is just a smack in the face to Wii owners everywhere.
Ubisoft is the Data Design Interactive on Wii.

Haha, wow. Kinda makes me feel bad about my negativity towards WiiWare. Pretty much any WiiWare release would be more entertaining than this rubbish.

They really have become the lowest of the low haven't they? I hope their Play Zone division sells zero games and it has to go under. No infact I hope the whole company goes under. Infact I'm from the south of England so I can get to France pretty quickly, I'll stay with some of my French pals in Paris, then I'll go and find their HQ and blow the place up! If I present Ubisoft's Wii/DS portfolio as my evidence I think the jury will be on my side.
