Pokemon Platinum boxart is super effective at being awesome
Can we just say, Nintendo: loving the boxart for Pokémon Platinum. Whereas the art for Diamond and Pearl relied on darker, more subdued colors, Platinum's box employs a striking combination of red, black, and white, blasting out in beams from the center of the cover. It's almost as though cover star Giratina is leaping right out of the box at the viewer/shopper. He's coming to get you, kids! That will be under your bed tonight! Muahaha.
As well as the cover, GAME Watch also has a small pool of character art (featuring Regice, Registeel, Regirock, and Regigigas) and screens (which can be found in our gallery). It looks ... well, pretty much like the same game you bought last year. Will that stop you buying it? Nope, thought not.

Well that didn't take long. Man, I just GOT Pokemon Diamond. I had already lost faith after they had started gluing random animal and alien parts together and calling them new Pokemon, but decided to pick it up and give my old flame another chance.

>gluing random animal and alien parts together
What are you talking about? That type of gameplay is soo totally in right now.

@rTwelve: Whoa, you totally got me there. :) I wasn't even thinking of Spore when I wrote that!

Platinum will be my first Pokemon game. Will it be different (more awesome?) than the Diamond/Pearl editions?

Like all "third version" games (Yellow, Crystal, Emerald), it will introduce new features and stuff not in previous games (Red/Blue, Gold/Silver, Ruby/Sapphire). One of the biggest additions to Platinum is the Sinnoh Underground can now be explored with online friends, not just local multiplayer.
Legendary Pokémon Giratina (pictured) and Shaymin (one of the "secret" Pokémon) will have new forms when caught/used in Platinum. Shaymin (normally a Grass-type) gains the Sky Form, where it becomes a Grass/Flying-type. Giratina changes into the Origin Form, which the special properties of is not yet known.
And then there's probably some other things I can't think of at the moment.

Damn Nintendo and its Pokemon. I tried to stay away from buying anymore Pokemon games, and somehow it lured me back into it.

Stop hatin', and just enjoy a solid, competitive JRPG. :)

I stay away by staying busy, otherwise i'd still be neck-deep in Stark Mountain, fighting my way out (no escape rope, last i remember) so that i can enjoy the shiny Graveler i caught
Fortunately, Okami and FFTA2 will help keep me off it for a while :)

Picked up Diamond for my fiancee, but I don't have a copy of my own, so I'm going to wait until Platinum releases.
I waited for Emerald on the GBA before.. Not entirely sure what the difference was (I think you can get all the Pokemon without trading, right?).
Anyway, I'm actually not fond of that boxart, but as long as it's more than just a logo, I'm happy enough.

giranina's origin form is the form used to travel from its dimention to the real dimention
