Final Fantasy tracks remixed for new album releasing to Japan
When asked by Final Fantasy junkies what their favorite aspect of the franchise is, you're likely to get a variety of answers. From the battle system to the epic tales weaved by each game, Square Enix has accrued quite the fan base over the years. If you ask us, one of the things we've always loved about those games were the music.
And here comes one more reason to be jealous of the Japanese. Famitsu reports that Square Enix will be releasing a remix cd on August 6th that focuses on Final Fantasy tracks. Nobuo Uematsu's famous songs will be remixed by Ante.
If you'd like a taste for yourself, check out the official site for the remix right here.

Um... 'epic tails'? Does each game 'wag' (as well as 'weave') their 'epic tails'?

Whoops, it's been fixed. Thanks for the heads up!

epic tails is actually a macro set on David Hinkles keyboard. It was supposed to be used in Sonic Chronicles though

Kick-awesome album art. I always hated fighting bombs...
Anyway, as much of a FF music nerd I am, I can't say that the preview they gave makes me too jealous of those getting the album (mind you, I said TOO jealous). Liberi Fatali is one of Nobuo Uematsu's defining works, and it sounds just...weird...when it's chopped up and rearranged like that. If the remix was just somebody laying a techno beat under the music it would be pretty cool, but they cut out some parts and repeated others...I can't say I like it too much. Plus, there's no way that the last word in the chant is 'Vinosec' in this version.
