Don't watch this trailer when you're Alone in the Dark
Say what you will about Alone in the Dark's limited Wii features, but using the Wii's controls to bludgeon someone with a chair looks all kinds of fun.
With that off our chests, this trailer did a good job of making us crave Atari's survival-horror title. While we can't help but be skeptical when developers implement an abundance of motion controls (only because games become more tedious than fun if things get too complicated), we're looking forward to seeing if Alone in the Dark hits the mark. Since we just rhymed, you know we're not lying.

The rhyme is the true mark of sincerity. I've never played an Alone in the Dark game, but I might have to check this out.

Wow. Please be good!

so clearly this is not based in reality...he is playing the game on some form of HighDef television...and anyone who has played Wii on a LCD/Plasma knows how ugly it looks being scaled... maybe there is a hidden pc behind upscaling it...lol...

I'm lazy right now so I'll just copy what I wrote over at GameTrailers.com about the same trailer:
That looks not really compelling to me. The gestures look like they tried way to hard to come up with some motion control stuff that will probably be unusable in the real game. They already announced that they had to rebuild many of the levels because they couldn't make the Wii display them properly and I'm afraid that this is the -we have to make one for all major platforms to squeeze every buck out of this expensive license no matter what- type of game.
Why developers still dare to bring out these Wii games that look worse than Resident Evil 4 on the GameCube is a mystery to me. We, the audience, already know that they can look much better so why trying to fob us off with this half-assed Playstation 2 bullshit. Who are you fooling? This is not even remotely on my list until I get a 8.5plus review for the Wii version. And I really hope GT will give us a separate review for it or at least an in-depth comparison with the Hi-Res ones.

If it's better than RE4, I'll get this. If not, I'll jst buy RE4 again. Huzzah!

hey grasshands,
Wii looks much better on HDTV...at least that was my experience as I transferred from cathode ray to LCD..
Maybe if you have a giant tv, it becomes a problem.

Agreed, I play on an HD LCD TV and it looks fine. He's probably playing without telling the Wii that his TV 16:9. Stretchy stretchy...

The variety of motion controls actually increases my interest, which was nearly non-existant before. Good motion controls add immersion. Bad ones feel like work.

I just hope these motion controls are better than Call Of Duty 3 (the part where the nazi grabs your gun and you have to wrestle it away from him and hit him) I could never do it and had to skip the level when it came up.
