Case Closed: The Unexpected Localization
Here's a slightly random announcement: this September, those of us not in Japan will be treated to a Detective Conan (or, as it's known outside Japan, Case Closed) game, after publisher Nobilis snagged the rights to publish Marvelous' Meitantei Conan: Tsuioku no Gensou "all over the world."Case Closed: The Mirapolis Investigation will see pint-sized manga detective and bespectacled, precocious sod Jimmy Kudo return to locate clues, attend crime scenes, collect evidence, and tackle mini-games. His aim? To finally catch a shadowy figure who crashes the opening of a new theme park with a series of crimes.
Truth be told, this is one for the kids (much like the Japan-only DS game), but Nobilis is doing what it can to keep the hardcore fans happy: the original Japanese anime voices, for example, will remain intact. Grab your magnifying glass and sleuth your way past the break for both a TV spot and trailer for the Japanese version.

Wow really? I used to watch this show on Adult Swim, but then they stopped showing it at some point. I don't think a game would be all to great, but you are a detective, so it could be.

They took it off because ratings weren't pretty good.
It's a great show, but [as] isn't really the place for it, I'm afraid. It really has a hard time to find a market in America. It's too mature (decapitation in the first episode!) to be on Toonami or anything aimed for younger kids, yet the overall feel of the show is kinda family-friendly.

here's hoping you get to tie the wiimote to your feet and play soccerball-related minigames :)
(Conan loves soccer, and often uses his soccer skills to kick projectiles to incapacitate escaping criminals)

This would be great news is you replaced the words "Case Closed" with "Haruhi".
Phil @ Jun 12th 2008 11:44PM
Cause ya know, Haruhi is a god in the anime world. *rolls eyes*
They're making a stupid ass dancing game off the series and this game isn't any more worthwhile. It's all a bunch of minigames and shit like that, rather than say something good like, oh I dunno, a point and click adventure style game with episodes within the game based around original made for the game mysteries.
Pointless license, pointless game, good series. Those three add up to crap as far as I'm concerned

Wow i never would have thought this would come here, i like the show but i wonder how a game would be?
Garst @ Jun 13th 2008 8:15PM
I still say it should be called Detective Edogawa.
Mr Khan @ Jun 13th 2008 9:47PM
Shouldn't it be cast closed?
