Steering blobs and dropping dudes with Costco's $10.99 sale
Is Mercury Meltdown Revolution a part of your Wii collection? If not, it absolutely should be, for Ignition's addictive puzzler must be one of the most criminally overlooked gems on the platform. And now Costco has it for $10.99, along with a bunch of other titles that range from pretty damn good to shovelware (oh, hai Pool Party). Angelina Jolie favorite Ghost Squad is also on sale, giving you a chance to knock terrorists from their speeding, swan-shaped jet skis, and save money in the process. If a better offer has come along this century, we've yet to see it.
Below are the six titles that most stood out to us (the full list is past the jump); we expect at least two of these to be in your house by June 22nd, when the sale ends:
- Ghost Squad
- Sonic and the Secret Rings
- Sega Bass Fishing
- Mercury Meltdown: Revolution
- Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz
- SSX Blur

Mercury Meltdown is pretty great. Yes, it has poor graphics. Yes, your friends may laugh at you. But it's inexpensive fun (if you like tilt puzzles). Filled with many levels (I think I've only completed the first 2 or 3 sets) so you're not going to finish it in a few hours.
$10.99 is a steal. Just consider it to be a wii ware game.
Too bad it doesn't work with the balance board though.

Why is there never a link to the actual sale pages and such with these type posts...or am I just missing it somewhere?!

Can't find link either - maybe this is just in-store? more info would be nice..

Click on the "Source" link in the lower-left section below the post (to the left of the "Add this" widget).
I think that used to say "Read" but this site finally realized that label wasn't helpful.
In any case, the Source link will take you to the external site. Unfortunately, that external page has a link to another page and that last page is only readable by registered users of that site.

I lost interest in Mercury Meltdown when the color combinations got too complex. It's one thing to move your blob through the obstacle course, but when you have to split it into 4 bits, then color each of the 4 bits a different color and recombine them just right, it got too frustrating.

Ghost Squad for $11? Sold. That's the perfect price for it.

Not bad, but Canadians might be better checking their closest GameStop or EB Games location during the next week or two.
There is a big sale going on where many Wii games have been marked down to $10 new, or $5 used. The specific games on sale seem to be changing from week to week, but there are some real steals to be had!
Games I've bought so far include:
-- Metroid Prime 3
-- Battalion Wars 2
-- Trauma Center: New Blood
-- Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles
-- Manhunt 2
-- NiGHTS
-- Geometry Wars: Galaxies
Total cost? $55+tax.

Wow, I'd love to pickup MP3 and BW2 for cheap.
