Guitar Hero DS bundle is almost perfect
We love our two-tone DSes around these parts, and the model that will ship as part of the Guitar Hero: On Tour bundle is especially delicious. Frankly, silver and black will always be a winning combination. It's a color scheme that cannot fail to look classy and sleek.
Alas, whoever designed this model didn't stop at just silver and black, but also decided to slap that ugly transfer onto the DS's upper lid. We appreciate some Guitar Hero branding was probably required for this, but couldn't it have been a little ... subtler? For those of you who are fans, Toys "R" Us currently has this down for a June 29th release on its site, one week after the game itself hits shelves.

is it true that this is TRU exclusive?

Indeed, silver and black is the best combo... Which is why I still have my original DS. But as for GH, I was going to get it, but the song list is horrible, so I think I'll pass for now.

Honestly, is NoA skipping market research all together? I own the cobalt/black DSL and I know a lot of DS owners who would've preferred a plain cobalt ds. And now this? It's gorgeous but the sticker... me. Look at NoE and the new colors, why can't NoA come up with something like that

Silver and Black is NOT a winning combination; has anybody heard of the Oakland Raiders? Hello?
Back on topic: I agree that the "GUITAR HERO" branding is slightly overbearing, but there are worse things that could be on your DS.

I wonder if it can be peeled off D:

hoping they will release it separately later on (just like they did with the crimson ds)

The funny thing on that sticker is on the wrong way.
When a player is playing, the sticker will always be upside down.

I think, personally, the silver makes it looks cheap. Unless it's some kind of charcoal silver, but it looks to be stainless-type silver, or something.
I want that two-tone crimson DS! Gah, effing polar white..

And this is why I got a nice black DS lite. I have no complaints, and over one year later, it's still looking really sweet.

this is not a TRU exclusive.

That's the same place where my brother put that Mario Kart sticker on his DS. The silver background almost blends with his DS.

this isnt toys r us exclusive anymore, if you look at the guitar hero on tour website, you see that like 6 other sites, like walmart and such, have it for sale as well.
