Joystiq pushes play with Guitar Hero: Aerosmith
Want to know what songs to expect in Guitar Hero: Aerosmith? Thanks to our useless hard-working friends at Joystiq, we can give you an idea of what to expect -- at least partially. Our favorite all-encompassing video game blog also got its hands on the upcoming game, essentially describing it as Guitar Hero III, only with more Aerosmith. So, if you liked the third game or just enjoy songs like "Sweet Emotion," there's a good chance that you'll be swayed to pick this one up.
As promised, there are also some non-Aerosmith songs to look forward to, although Steven Tyler and company dominate the playlist. To give you an idea of what to expect, fourteen of the twenty-five revealed tracks are Aerosmith songs.
Click on past the break to see the partial list in its entirety, or just head on over to Joystiq.

I wish they would just release the RunDMC tunes as DLC.

personally, i think this is pretty cool, based on the preliminary info. i like that the different levels have significance in aerosmith's past....nipmuc high school is where they played their first show (not far from where i grew up), max's kansas city was an old punk venue in NYC, and the orpheum is a big venue in boston.
looking at the aerosmith tracks....pretty awesome. i can't believe how many old school tracks are on there. "nobody's fault" was not a popular song by any means but is my favorite song by them. "make it" was one of the first songs steven tyler wrote. i'm really glad this game isn't going to be focused on the newer aerosmith songs that sorta stink, like "pink" and "falling in love is so hard on the knees" and junk like that.
additionally, the kinks? the cult? the clash? sign me up.

Nobody's Fault is a great song that otherwise wouldn't end up on a Guitar Hero game. One of Aerosmith's heavier songs, definitely... And the great lead guitar is done by Brad Whitford, who doesn't get the credit he deserves in the public eye because he's overshadowed by Joe Perry (who is also great, of course). I'm so glad to see that song in the game.

You know, every Aerosmith compilation project, "best-of" list, or what-have-you has failed to include one of my favorite songs by them: "Mama Kin"
I was really hoping to rock out to this one in this game... at least in the easy stages.
[Upon making sure I had the song name right, I found it's on a bunch of "Greatest Hits" albums I've just failed to come across.]
Also, I know its not a real heavy guitar song, but "Janie's Got a Gun" was the song I was introduced to Aerosmith by. It would have been nice to have that on the playlist as well.
However, as much as I may complain, I'm still going to rent this one to see how it is. Aerosmith is a good band, and it IS Guitar Hero. I just wish more of my favorites had been included.
It's worth at least a play-through though to rock out to the Run DMC version of "Walk This Way". One of the best rock/rap collaborations E-V-E-R.

This isn't the full track list, so I bet we'll at least see Mama Kin.
ramuji @ Jun 3rd 2008 3:20AM
Every single song from 'Rocks' should be on there.
"Sick as a Dog" anyone?
Jumbo @ Jun 3rd 2008 6:23AM
There's only 25 songs on here?

Just a partial list so far :)

Where's Amazing? Crying? And/or Crazy? They could even use the same jewel pattern for each song!
Nebinator @ Jun 3rd 2008 5:29PM
So........ is this actually better than gh3??
Nebinator @ Jun 5th 2008 7:27PM
Not a rhetorical question
