Retrospective: Nintendo's past peripherals
With Wii Fit (and, thus, the Balance Board) hitting stores recently, we figured a nostalgic stroll down memory lane would be nice. So, what we've done is compiled a list of all the peripherals that helped pave the way for the Balance Board, Nintendo's latest peripheral. So, let's not waste any time and get down to business. To start your journey, just click on the red text in the bottom right-hand corner there.

Nobody is claiming Nintendo did. The Power Glove DID help pave the way for the Balance Board, however.

Maybe it's just me but I remember, quite clearly, some sort of wheel being released with "Excite Truck".
Sonic_13 @ May 28th 2008 5:32PM
Ubisoft had released a racing game around launch. At the same time they released a wheel of their own.

I still feel they should have had more support for the Bongos, and they should still be using them. Maybe a Wii Ware Bongo game?
Sonic_13 @ May 28th 2008 5:33PM
Donkey Kong Barrel Blast should have definitely supported the Bongos. The game was originally designed to use them, so I don't understand why they removed support for them.
It's fine that they added Wii remote / nunchuk support (afterall it was a Wii game), but there was no reason why they couldn't have left in bongo support too.

A pretty cool retrospective. From the list I have:
- Bongo Controller (3)
- Game Boy Camera
- Game Boy Printer
- GameCube microphone
- SNES Mouse
- Wii Wheel
- Wii Zapper
and of course, the Wii Balance Board (which is a pretty sweet peripheral).
I really want to get a R.O.B.

God, I loved the NES Advantage. I had two of them and it really added to the games, especially the big buttons for little kids. The thing felt massive sitting in my lap.
