Our two immediate thoughts upon loading up this Guitar Hero: On Tour "How To Rock Out" video:
Pshaw, like we really need anyone telling us how to rock out
Ugh, not this Patrick Fugit wannabe from the first trailer again
As it turns out, despite the almost Almost Famous kid, it's a hilarious video very reminiscent of Budweiser's "Real Men of Genius" campaign! And, even when the accompanying singer gets annoying towards the end, the video stays informative with previews of multiplayer attacks -- like swapping their screens or sending shirts for your opponents to autograph. "Now, who do I make it out to? To your mama?"
Well this comercial has not only soured me on ever playing Guitar Hero Again! but it has made me want to start playing more real music! like with OMG wait for it.......a real F'n Guitar! This game looks like another cash grab from the same people that keep releasing the same crap but in a diferent shape! Wow! My crap now come with a hand strap and a pick stilus I must have died and gone to the lamest after life EVER!!!! I hope this game kills people so I can see it being pulled off the shelves and burned it great big bon fires!
It looks like you will have serious forearm and finger pain within about 10 minutes of playing this thing. It basically looks like the hand attachment for most camcorders, and simply pressing record on those things can break a knuckle.
I've fallen out of love with Guitar Hero since the dawn of the new generation (AKA Since Harmonix fell off the train), but this is admittedly kinda neat. I couldn't for the life of me wrap my head around how I would hold the DS though, so it's great to be alleviated of that worry.
If the price doesn't get boosted too much though, I dunno, I could see myself toggling this one. However, I always saw Guitar Hero as a game for people with an audience; and the DS isn't really so conducive to that form of entertainment. Best GH experience I've ever had was in a room filled with people, all taking turns on one controller.
We'll see how this goes.
Ad's great though. The writing for this game is for the most part, pretty solid. Guitar Hero 3 dropped the ball, but the one-liners and Rules of Rock in the beginning two versions was excellent.

I was never going to buy this game, but that commercial is awesome.
I want to be that leering guy in black.

I already am that leering guy in black :(

As bad as the comercials have been i think this game will be worth the money. Something new, a little risky, and maybe could suck but probably not.
I am willing to give it a whirl

This does look aweosme, but I already have it for Wii, and am in the middle of too many games right now.

Their DS battery is almost dead. Seems like they'd keep that out of the commercial.
Josh @ May 28th 2008 11:23AM
But they've been rocking out for hours! Of course the battery's wearing down!

Even though that was incredibly lame, and i was quite embarrassed to watch it, i've got the game preordered and it should be fun.

I get that its meant to be tounge&cheek and intentionaly silly but thats terrible. Its very unfunny and waaay too long.

Commercial was kind of funny, but it doesn't justify the track list.

It would have been better if it were only a minute long, but I lol'd.
