Sam & Max to release this August
Adventure game fans, take note: Sam & Max: Season One will be hitting Wii's this August. Those looking forward to solving crimes and revealing conspiracies with a six-foot tall canine and his violence-loving rabbit partner (read: us) are probably champing at the bit right now. Since Telltale was being so coy about Sam & Max coming to the Wii in the first place, we're surprised that the game is hitting retail so soon!Season One and Season Two are already available in full for the PC, but this will be the duo's first console outing.

Wait. Retail?
I thought it was WiiWare bound

They've stated that the Wiiware size restrictions are to much work to comply to and the season would be good as a box set. I think this is good news, nothing clogs my Wii flash memory and I can play this still this year. Yay for Sam & Max Wii.

How much do you think it will be? Season one for PC is about $20 now, so my guess is going to be $40.

I've played Abe Lincoln Must Die. I am interested with this. It reminded me mostly of Leisure Suit Larry: Magna Cum Laude. Well, just no boobs in it. I'd pick it up for 20.

IS Sam and Max even good?

You sir need a serious lesson in video game history, I won't say anything about the new one's since I haven't played them but if you've never played the 2D original go do that right now. It's hilarious and looks gorgeous.

Seriously. Also play Day of The Tentacles while you're at it.
I'd love to see that, and Mansion, on Wii next.

@hellshammer: There is already a ScummVM port to GameCube thus you can run that on the Wii with the proper hacks. I haven't modded mine (because I'm a wimp that loves warranties) but you CAN in fact play all Scumm games on Wii if you want to. You just have to copy the stuff to a SD card and then do some voodoo or something but as far as I know it works. Here's an ancient article about that: http://games.slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=07/04/10/1617218&from=rss

Those new Sam&Max episodes easily rank with the best point&click games ever made. The only difference is that they're a bit easier to play (which isn't a bad thing considering how hard these games used to be), but they certainly remain insanely fun. In fact, I doubt I have laughed as hard in years while playing a video game!

Actually, the PC version can be found for $10 in bargain bins right now. I love Sam & Max, but buying a new game for the Wii for $30 when that's the cost of a pass for the PC is going to be hard to justify.
Now for those asking if these games are any good, the answer is yes. Episode 4 of Season 1 is freely downloadable (legally) on the web if you want to see what it looks like. They are a little easier to play from what I can see, but the humor is still there and well worth it. There are a lot of hidden jokes as well or jokes that make more sense if you've played some of these sorts of games. Humor can still be a little much for really young kids, but is not out of line at any point.
I look forward to it with mixed feelings. I want to support this on the Wii, but not when it doesn't make sense financially. :(

Sam and Max is cool and all, but I dunno, I mean I don't know if I'll be getting this for Wii, it just seems like they waited too long, I mean I've played about half of Season 1 on PC, and Season 2 is out now on PC.
