Beautiful Katamari rumors roll to a stop
Remember all those old rumors of Beautiful Katamari making an appearance on the Wii? It looks like it may finally be time to lay them to rest. Wal-Mart seems to be e-mailing customers who pre-ordered the unconfirmed title and indicating that it has been canceled. Of course, whether or not there ever was anything to cancel is still up for debate.
The title still shows up on Target's online site (with a June 3 date), as well as on GameFly.

Eh, I always considered Katamari a one shot deal anyways. Namco should have listened to the creator and let it die at one single, beautiful little game.

well while it only needed one game it's nice that they bring it to other systems since not everyone has a PS2, it's nice that they add little things to each game, even though it's never really a reason to rebuy the game if you already do have it. But they should make the game for every system, Wii shouldn't be left out, a PS3 version would be fine too but they could always use play the PS2 version on theres.

What was this game about, anyway?

I have it for the 360. Non-360 owners really aren't missing much - as fun as Katamari is, there really aren't very many differences between Beautiful Katamari and the previous iterations.

Gamefly is funny like that. They are often the first to put up info on a future release game, and one of the last to take it down in case of cancellation. Last I checked they still had Project H.A.M.M.E.R. listed as an upcoming Wii release. Bunch of game renting weirdos that they are.

I'm good with the three Sony Katamari games tbh. If anything, I'm more hacked at Namco never releasing the original in Europe.
Looks like De Blob will be my next quirky buy.
