VC Monday Madness: SKYKID and some WiiWare action

Well, it looks like we were wrong. Here we were, expecting Nintendo to just dish out some WiiWare games and call it a day. Instead, the Big N has gone and surprised us by offering not only the WiiWare downloads we were expecting, but also one Virtual Console game. No point in wasting time, so let's just get to the downloads.

This week's Virtual Console download:

SKYKID (NES, 1 - 2 players, 500 Wii Points)

This week's WiiWare downloads:

Star Soldier R (Hudson, 1 player, 800 Wii Points)
Critter Round-Up (Konami, 1 - 4 players, 1,000 Wii Points)

critter round-up is really fun (i tried the "japanese" version which is actually in english) but i'm saving my 1000 points for dr. mario. WHERE IS DR. MARIO???

I loved Skykid growing up. Likely that was more a function of it being one of my dozen or so games, but I played the hell out of it none the less...

There's obviously Dr. Mario, but I'm hoping for one more unique title for my Wii. Hmmm...

I'm not downloading anything, as my Wii memory is full and refuse to swap stuff on and off! I did that last week for the launch, and have hardly any VC games left!

You guys were worried that the VC would be dropped? Nintendo already said that tha one VC-less week was just for the release of WiiWare and that the next week they would be back on with the VC titles.... I think it was even a post on this site that said it.... you guys silly :P
As for me, i won't be getting any. I'm saving my 1500 points for something, though... i don't know what yet....

What can we say, we just always expect the worst even when we're told not to expect it. Must be the life of being chained to a laptop in the Joystiq HQ basement.

At least we get stale muffins. Once a week.
