DS Daily: The pretty colors

Color preference can be a big deal when it comes to choosing a handheld. Some people have even bought new DS Lites based on more recently released colors -- or at least upgraded from a Phat because of new design offerings.

If you had your choice, though, what would be your ultimate fantasy DS color? (Hint: That means it doesn't have to actually exist yet.)

Isn't there that website that lets you order a DS with every little bit's colour customized?

I guess that dark blue and black DS is probably the perfect DS for me. But I already have a white DS (matches my Wii, even) and I'm not one of those freaks that would buy a new DS just for it's colour.

and like $15 extra per piece or something to get parts like the frame, bottom and buttons painted....

I agree with you full heartedly. If they released a special edition NES or SNES version, I would buy it. More so on the SNES one since we already have a NES GBA. If I had the cash and knowledge, I'd try to do it myself. I want to do that with a GB Micro, but sadly, the money and skills needed are not mine. :(

As for just normal colors, I would love matte black version. No fingerprints to worry about and feels good in your hands. Matte forest green gets second plaece for me.

For shiny colors, I would have to go with light blue, like the special edition Sword of Mana GBA in Japan.

hot pink! i hate baby pink. i've always hated it. hot pink is the way to go. if they never make it and make every other color in the world. i really like my white one. it matches my wii and my ipod and looks very clean.

I have the navy blue DS and beside's that I love the colour, it's special as it is an import version from Japan through the now defunct Lik-Sang. Nevertheless, I care mostly about the game in my DS, not it's colour (although if I could get my hands on some tasty skins, I think I would put one of them on it, to spice things up a little)

Turquoise, some kind of light green color(forgot what its called) Smooth colors. I prefer light colors. I love pink!
what if they mixed pink and turquoise or pink with something.
its always black >.>. I don't like the inside of black DS's for some reason.

I would love a DS Lite with a clear case. Remember the glacier color GBA? It was always my favorite.

Either that or a matte black DS. I hate the glossy top to the Onyx.

Red. Real red as in like the one the Japan Post gave away, not that metallic red-black concession to the losers who couldn't handle an all red system.

Though after reading through the comments here, Apple Green is also quite acceptable!

i dont like my gadgets to come on colors, even when my last two cellphones were black/orange, so i'd like my fantasy DS to be black matte (mine is black) or metallic (REAL aluminum or titanium case, not plastic, like good old powerbook).

it will be nice though if it came with NES grey, red buttons and stuff... really nice, black d-pad... sweet.

I think a cool print on it would be better than just a crazy color scheme. But if I were limited to a color scheme, I would go for brown and yellow or brown and orange.

Triforce DS is one of my favorites, existent and nonexistent. Or the yellow Pikachu one. I can't think of color that doesn't exist. I'm not creative that way. I can't think of a color and put it together in my mind. I can only see it once it's been made and think "I like that."

Crimson and black is my current fave, but I would like to see a metallic black with hundreds of tiny metallic silver skulls completely covering the face, with the back just being all black. Thats my dream DS.

I'm always changing my DS skin because I like variety, so I think the perfect DS color for me would be one that changes every once in a while depending on how I'm feeling.

So I suppose I would like a mood DS!

Have you ever seen that color on cars that changes depending on your angle when you are looking at it? That is the color I would like to see.

Also, what about an N64 Anniversary Edition?

The others I have seen commented on that I like are the NES SE, SNES SE, or Apple Co. Alluminum/Titanium.

And Last, I love my Tri-force limited Edition Gold. I love it when a color is rare or is limited. That is when I will usually sell mine and buy another one (Started with the Phat, then sold it for a white Lite, then sold that for the Black/Crimson and finally sold that for my current Zelda SE).
