Wii Warm Up: Mad About Platinum Games
We're thrilled about MadWorld. The truth is, we were so happy to see evidence that Mikami, Inaba, and Kamiya's crew was back to work after leaving Capcom that we'd probably even be excited about a card RPG. But MadWorld is no card RPG. Its smirking attitude towards violence and high-contrast black-and-white color scheme hint that something very special is on the way.
How did you react to the news of MadWorld's development? Were you more excited about this game on its own merits, or was the news of Platinum's emergence (to Sega's possible benefit!) the more awesome component of the MadWorld reveal?

I am very excited because they are the masterminds behind Okami, and Viewtiful Joe!

It was the broad shoulders that did if for me.
That and the fact Sega are publishing. Recently, Sega have been picking up some good titles. I think the trend will continue with these Platinum Game titles.

Have any gameplay details come out yet? Because judging by the trailer it looks sickeningly like a VS fighting game. Which I do not want. I hope so much that this is a God Hand style beat-em-up, that could be fantastic. Fighting games are never fantastic. Ever.
Also, on the story, there's signs in the background of the trailer that say Shock-TV, plus the IGN preview hinted at a Running Man-esque storyline, so i think we can all draw the right conclusions there.

This game will be so fun to look at that I can't fathom it being not worth $50. That's even if it weren't done buy ex-Clover employees. Adding the fact that every game these guys have ever worked on have been AAA makes MadWorld the most exciting thing to go videogames in years.

Anyone that has anything to do with Clover might as well marry me!
Okami and Viewtiful Joe are the some of the most amazing games out there!

Is it me, or does the character in that screenshot look a lot like Hellboy?

i thought the same thing!

the visual style is most wonderfully gorgeous. if it's even close to being as fun to play as okami & viewtiful joe it will be the best evar.

All I know is that it's a game from ex-Clover (and Capcom in general) folk.
It's really all everyone should know. Viewtiful Joe, Devil May Cry, Okami, Resident Evil, God Hand. This should be enough for everyone to get excited about all four of their games (their mysterious 4th game from Shinji Mikami has not been announced yet, though)

This is the best news all year, as far as gaming goes. I've been waiting SO so so long to hear what Platinum were up to and and this (and Bayonetta, to a lesser extent since we know nothing about it) did not disappoint.
The news is all the better because the game has been described (on Kotaku, at least) as an over the shoulder brawler, which sure makes it sound like it's taking a que from God Hand.
I trust an action/brawler game to kick ass from Platinum more than any studio on Earth. This game will probably be insanely awesome!

I'm just going to sit back on this one and see how the gameplay looks. then see some demos or something. It looks good and is in the right hands but I am not to hyped about it yet!

It's essentially SEGA sponsoring Capcom and Clover veterans
Sounds like a winning formula to me
