NPD: April sees Wii on top (yet again)

Well, you should all be used to this by now. Sound the trumpets and all that, Nintendo dominated the U.S. market yet another month, proving Pachter's prediction right. Even though that Grand Theft Auto IV game released in April, Mario Kart Wii was still in the running. But, before we get to software sales, we should probably check the hardware charts.

uhm.... take a look at the chart again. MK Wii came 2nd, GTA IV came top.

GTAIV on the PS3 ain't that great to begin with.

1. GTA games don't need that high of graphics. And as "intensely modified" the graphics are in GTAIV compared to 3, PS3 GRAPHICS ARE NOT NEEDED.

2. GTA IV's ultimate feature: Multiplayer
And lots of people know that the Xbox360 has the best online feature to date. (whether it be functionality, or large number of players)

So... easily explainable.
In fact, I'm surprised ANYONE bought it on the PS3.

The PS3 still sucks after all this time. I guess "The Mercedes of consoles" just isn't catching on and it looks like the Kia of consoles is the the Sh!t.

We're better than a Kia, we're like the Scion, the ps2 is a Cavalier or Camry, cheap, dependable, not that nice looking but everyone has one, the Wii is a Scion, stylish yet affordable and tragically hip. This would of course put ps3 as a Benz respectfully, and Xbox 360 as a Ford, falling apart and killing itself a la red ring of death.

HAHA! GTA IV sucks anyways. Mario Kart wii is actually FUN, and not some game where you play some pothead going around a city killing floozies. Is this game any different from the previous titles? Aside from the game's locales, no, it isn't. Same old, same old.

Clearly, you haven't played GTA IV. The main character is NOT a pothead, and the story is COMPLETELY different from past games in the series. Also, the game isn't about running around killing random people. Please, try to play a game at least once before passing judgment on it.

Played GTA4 on a 360, a friend was super duper hyped about. It's the same old crap from GTA3, Vice City, San Andreas, just with better graphics, physics and a better history

The real appeal of this game truly is the so longed Multi player game, which in fact, was what keep me on playing this game. But 'll wait for the PC version

none of you have obviously played GTA4... you don't kill people, you take them BOWLING and drive them sedately down town, getting nagged at if you so much as bump another car's bumper at a light.

Dude... it's so much harder getting away with murder in GTA nowadays...

The police are actually a bit more formidable nowadays.
The only thing that keeps you safe is the whole "search area" they got. ...other than that, when you're surrounded: YOU'RE SURROUNDED. Expect death. *sigh*

The biggest game of this gen for PS360 and they still couldn't touch the Wii. And don't think for a second this predicted residual boost in May sales for those systems are gonna make a difference either. Wii Fit is released in May and I think this 700k figures from March and April are gonna be shattered.

I'm confused GTA IV still sold more that Mario Kart. and to that every GTA is the same comment isn't every Mario Kart the same just with different locals.

The thing is, there was a really super duper hype about GTA4, which had a lot of merchandise, propaganda, marketing, call it what you like it, up that there was till really 24 levels tall GTA 4 posters hanging from the roof to the street and all right, while Mario Kart Wii only had a couple of tv commercials and a little event on launch day in Nintendo Store in New York City. They were saying GTA4 would keep Mario Kart Wii from the top 5, and still, it appears on second place, outselling the PS3 version of this game, maybe not the 360 one, cuz this one was bugless while the PS3 had many, so many went for the 360 version, but still, this really big hype didn't keep Mario Kart Wii from getting to be on second place and Wii still outselling 360 and PS3
