Virtually Free: Slightly to the left of normal

This week's a little different for the Virtual Console, so it's a little different for Virtually Free as well. What's new? Well, for starters, we're not giving away a Virtual Console game. Instead, we're celebrating the release of WiiWare by giving away LostWinds (1000 Wii points/$10)!

So what do you have to do to win? First of all, you have to leave a comment (with a valid e-mail address) on this post telling us what you're looking forward to most of the announced WiiWare titles. Second, you must be a legal resident of the United States with an American Wii (sorry, Canadians, we have to leave you out of this one; blame the gifting system and not us!) and 18 years of age or older. You may enter once per day between now and Monday, May 19; the contest comes to a close that night at 11:59 PM Eastern time, and we'll select a winner in a random drawing the next day. Questions? I'm definitely looking forward to Dr. Mario Rx. To this day, i still play the original with my friends. It's one of those games thats simple enough to help you wind down after a long day, but deep enough to make you think. I think it will probably be the most intelligent game thus far on WiiWare.

I really want an Earthbound WiiWare game but I am looking forward to what the developers are going to do with new genres and types of game. I am looking forward to Dr Mario though. Playing online will be great.

Personally, I'm kinda hoping for a return to the glory days of PC point and click type adventures. A Sierra type game like the King's Quest, Space Quest or Quest for Glory series', for example, could possibly do well, mixed together with elements from MMOs like Ultima (I have yet to see exactly how My Life as a King works, whether it is in that fashion of "online" world).

Seeing as how Myst has recently been touted for the DS, I could easily imagine a new Myst game with downloadable tasks, "secret" pages and worlds up for offer every now and then, similar to Animal Crossing or Harvest Moon.

I dunno, maybe its just wishful thinking on my part.... *sigh*
