Professor Layton and the Last Time Travel announced for Japan
Everyone who dug Professor Layton and the Curious Village (see: the entire DS Fanboy staff and its readers), then you'll be happy to know the series continues on unabated in Japan, as Professor Layton and the Last Time Travel has been announced for the region. Level 5 has confirmed that the title will release to eager gamers in Japan sometime in the fall of this year. As it stands right now, this is believed to be the last entry in the series of games.
A teaser site has launched, which you can check out here (or by clicking the "Read" link below). Who else is ready for another dose of Layton goodness?

Time travel??! Really?? Yeah, I think I'll pass. That breaks the experience for me.

How does time travel break the "solve puzzles from Games Magazine" experience for you?

What's the matter? Too sci-fi for you?

I don't care about Japan Layton announcements. Announce the next one for the West already!

Yay! What great news! I loved the first one, so this had better come to the US, damnit!
Gendreavus @ May 9th 2008 9:00PM
This game not coming to the US would be entirely inexcusable, especially after blatantly saying that there would be a sequel in the game itself. I'm hugely excited for this.

Ok this must be #3????

Just a question. Why is Professor (and I use that term lightly) holding the paper when throughout the first game it became clear that he can't read. He is in fact most likely illiterate. Every time something needs to be read he hands it off to Luke. Anyone else notice this odd behavior?

Good observation. Note, however, that he isn't really even looking at the paper. He also looks a bit confused.
You know, paper doesn't always have to have words on it. Just saying.
