The most divisive question about the Wiimote answered
Forget the appropriateness of motion controls for varying genres, or the difficulty in modeling representative movement. Will it blend? The Wii Remote has become such a cultural phenomenon that it can now be used to market other products, like the Blendtec Total Blender.
Citing his disdain with his Uncle Floyd's un-wrist-strapped Wiimote tossing, and being the host of a series of web videos called "Will It Blend," Blendtec's Tom Dickson tossed two Wiimotes into a Total Blender for science. As you would expect from pretty much any piece of electronics put inside a blender, the two remotes waggled themselves into a fine mist inside the pitcher.
Oh, sorry, we shouldn't have given away the ending.

That unnerved me way more than it should have.
Aaron @ May 7th 2008 12:09PM
Same.
Cool idea though.
Eternityx @ May 7th 2008 10:04AM
That should be a federal offense.
Zack W. @ May 7th 2008 10:10AM
That was coolies!!

I'll admit it. I teared up a little.
Gaucho @ May 7th 2008 11:25AM
I'm waiting for the episode when he tries to "blend" the body parts of a drifter he ran over.
RatMasterD21 @ May 7th 2008 11:36AM
is it me or was that shit racest?
Phoenixfury @ May 7th 2008 11:50AM
I was wondering about that guy just the other day. To Nintendo's credit, you got to admit they made the Wii remote pretty tough. Did anyone else notice it seemed to take a while before the blender even started chewing up the Wii remotes? I'm not too surprised because my best friend was playing rough with my Wii remote with out the strap and wound up throwing it hard into the wall.. Let's just say Wii remote 1 wall 0! Not a scratch on the remote, but he messed up the wall.. Nintendo sure didn't make those things with cheap crap did they?

As for the answers to the other obligatory questions:
Crysis - no
Doom - yes
Overlords - welcome
Soviet Russia - blends you

Wow.. does the guy not have a life? And what was with the forced, impersonal way he talked?.. and the 60's theme show music...
Also, if that is how hard he tossed his wiimote, he'd be lucky for it to reach the TV none-the-less break it.
He stands there smiling like he's doing something really oulandish and funny... get a life. It's like a old person version of those guys who break consoles at launch to tick people off waiting in life trying to get one. What a waist of film.
Waffala @ May 7th 2008 1:00PM
This is completely different from "break my ___ console" nonsense, it's an advertising campaign for the Blendtec Total Blender, which is an amazing blender because it can blend anything. It's not some guy getting mild satisfaction out of destroying things to piss people off, he gets a paycheck for this.
SoshiKitai @ May 7th 2008 1:48PM
I would suggest watching his other videos before judgin' the man. My favorite: Glow Sticks. :D
Matt - Perth @ May 8th 2008 1:06AM
Man, settle down.... So it's presented in a style that you don't like, deal with it!! : )
hvnlysoldr @ May 7th 2008 12:26PM
Wiimotes are tanks. The Wii is the mothership. Reggie is the Juggernaut.
jello00 @ May 7th 2008 12:28PM
I bet those Wii fumes just killed a million brain cells on that old man.
SoshiKitai @ May 7th 2008 1:49PM
He's breathed in worse fumes... I'm surprised he's still alive. :P
Adv2k1 @ May 7th 2008 3:16PM
i seen a number of his videos and found them all enjoyable.
However the question remains what kind of blender is that? blades made of diamonds or something.
Crake @ May 7th 2008 5:02PM
Wasn't this done a year and a half ago? Way to be on the ball Nintendo Wii Fanboy.
hvnlysoldr @ May 7th 2008 11:32PM
Yeah some radio people used this blender on a wiimote. However they couldn't fully destroy one and didn't produce strapless smoke.
Crake @ May 14th 2008 10:43AM
Actually I am speaking of this exact video.
Crake @ May 14th 2008 10:48AM
My bad, you were in fact correct, the video I saw was the one done by a radio station (using the same name "Will it Blend?", however) and I confused it with other videos I had watched around the same time done by Blendtec. My sincerest apologies, I was quite certainly in the wrong.
