DS Daily: Now is not the time
For how much some of you enjoy your DS, we'd think you had a pouch for the device grafted into your skin. As such, we thought about what kind of effect playing all the time could have on someone's life. We then thought about the addiction of enjoying great DS games, and how they could drive a person to play when it's not really appropriate to.Have you ever whipped out the DS and played at an inappropriate time? Perhaps you were caught solving cases in Apollo Justice while in the chair waiting for the dentist to inspect your teeth? Have you been yelled at by friends or family for playing when you should've been listening to Uncle Carl talk about his trip to some boring location? When have you enjoyed your DS when you probably shouldn't have?

I'm sorry, but the loo is a perfectly acceptable place to play the DS. As a matter of fact, it's one of the best places to play it.

In the bathroom at work is worse. I played almost a whole round of Tiger Woods 08 in there once. My boss thinks I have gastrointestinal problems now.

The place I work at has instituted early morning workshops that have no relevance to my job. I get to work early and then go to the meeting about 5 minutes after it starts so that I can sit at a table in the back and play DS or my GBA Micro. It's amazing how much better these workshops are now.

Well, at my brother's wedding several months ago, I had my DS slipped into the inside pocket of my tuxedo jacket. It was mostly out of habit, though, and I managed not to actually play it any time that night... but I'm pretty sure a few of the other groomsman had theirs on them, too.

Sounds like you missed one hell of a chance to get some WiFi on. Tsk tsk. It's not like YOU were getting married ;)

I played New Super Mario Bros multiplayer with a friend in school once during physics class and the teach saw us, but since he is ok he just told us to put them away. Also, I am going on a physics competition tomorrow.

We were at a friend's place for dinner and a movie. The movie was awful so I hid in the corner with my DS. My husband wasn't pleased. :P

I took mine to a funeral.

Comment thread over; you win.
Mine is much tamer; I've only whipped it out a couple of times in the cubicle. Working in a corner is really bad for my productivity...

I was reading The Walking Dead on my DS while stopped at red lights. Behind the wheel.

I can only recall two instances, one where I started playing Metroid Pinball on the orthodontist's chair, and another while playing Mario Kart Online at a roller rink while skating.
It really impairs your judgment when going around a corner... I figured my WiFi record was more important, so I just hit a wall in order to get a mini-turbo.

I almost got caught once at school. I was playing my friend's DS, and the teacher started to walk towards me. Luckily, the kid next to me warned me, so I hid it. Teacher was suspicious, so I said I was playing games on my calculator (A lot of kids do at my school). I got in trouble a bit, but avoided the worst of it.

I remember leaving my DS with my colleague in the office since we really weren't doing anything. When I came back, he told me that our project manager caught him playing and told him to stop. Thank goodness I wasn't there.
We also received emails regarding playing in the office. PSPs were the ones noticed though so I feel pretty much exempted from the warning. hahaha! And besides, I only play during breaks. (And beyond the regular working hours)

I play it all the time in school with their strict no-electronics policy, but my teachers don't seem to mind if they aren't in the middle of teaching.
Music devices and cellphones are quick to be shunned by the staff. I'm usually asked from across the room if it's a cellphone in study hall, only to be left alone when it isn't.

Jesus was judging the quick and the dead while I played Elite Beat Agents. On Divas mode

I constantly get yelled at, when I start playing my DS in the car to avoid my girlfriends whining.

I was playing New Super Mario Bros. while my little sister and my dad was having her interviews with her teachers.
Then my sister went to get an inerview with her science teacher. Since there were 3 chairs at his desk, I sat on the extra one and turned it away so I can beat that roll-the-snowman-head-down-the-hill game highscore. And as soon as her science teacher said "Nice meeting with you"
I got to the top of the highscore list and was frantically poking my sister so she could see xD
After that I decided to just sit at the back of the hall and play there since I thought I was a tad distracting.
