DS Daily: Endless fundage

A frequent complaint among DS owners is the sheer number of DS games -- there are always more great titles than we can afford! This year has already been packed with greatness, and there's more coming down the pipe. It begs the question of how much we could spend on the DS if money was no object. $500? In minutes. $1000? Perhaps. How much could you spend, if you knocked out your entire wishlist? If you bring accessories into the mix, we could probably knock out Fort Knox.

not much since im a proud ninjapass for games user .
but , im about to get a ps3 , and its prices are higher then hell , im about to get burned .
and yhe around 900000000000 grands.

I have gotten picky lately, since my gaming time is as valuable (and expensive) as the games are to buy. My wishlist for the upcoming releases bears no more than four or five absolute must-buys and the nice-to-haves will likely be left unbought, for lack of time to play them anyway. Therefore, I guess my utter happiness is about 200$ away.

If money was no object I'd just go for a complete collection. More realistically, though, if we're talking about this summer's releases, there are around ten that I want, but I'm going to try to limit myself to half that and hope for price-drops within a few months of release for everything that isn't a day one buy or day-one-because-it's-Atlus-and-if-I-don't-get-it-now-I'll-never-see-it-again buy.

It seems that excessive hyphenation has caused part of my post to be hacked off. The words after "never" in that very long phrase were "see-it-again", although one could probably infer that anyway.

If money were not an obstacle, I would have enough DS cases and accessories to fill a house. There's just so much cute stuff on renchi and play-asia! >D

You know, the only DS game I want that's out that I don't have is Apollo Justice. I can't find it around here anywhere. Grargh.

As a regular game costs more than 58 dollars around here(that is more than $550 for ten games), I think I would be spending a lot of money, if I had the chance. But if it had a limit, I would use the same technique as I use now: save up some money and then import a bunch of games from places willing to send packages to my country.

I'm rather lucky that I live in the UK and the DS is region free.
I can import games for $30 and when I'm finished, and I see no reason to keep the game, I can sell the games on the UK market for £25. So, I usually make around £8 or £9 for each game I buy from the US market.
So basically, I can afford to buy as many DS games as I want as long as the European release schedule continues to lag 3-4 months behind our US brothers and sisters.

I decided at some point that I would just buy any and all ds games that I was remotely interested in, which has ballooned my collection up to 65 games (double that if you want to count other gameboy stuff). But I've played almost all of them so no problem there.
I just recently finished picking up the rest of the older, out of production ds games that I wanted, and I've just got 3 more from the good old color/advance days that need finding. There's just 2 new releases that I need to pick up, but there's another 30 games that will come out in the next year or so. So it's not a matter of needing money right now, it's about planning for the future.

If I went out and purchased all the import DS games I wanted, I could easily see myself spending over $500. Add in PSP import games, and it'd go up to $750.

Well,
I have 16 games that are on my wish list. Most of those are actually in the budget realm currently. Others are still on the high end of the spectrum (or will be since at least two of those titles aren't released yet). In any event, I'll say the average cost is about $25 right now for the games on my list.
Bust out the Microsoft calculator here . . . 16 x 25 = . . . GAH! Oh, no! Well, at least I have a pretty good library right now. Eventually I'll get the games on my wish-list. Even now I'm picking up some games for my NES, SNES, etc. that I just didn't have the means to get back in the day. I guess you can call me patient. Slow and steady win the race. ;)
