Wii Warm Up: System hopping

We've seen games that originated on the DS hop to the Wii -- Lost in Blue is the latest example, but a more notable instance might be Trauma Center.

Do you think switching consoles mid-series is a good idea? If so, are there any particular switches that made more sense on the Wii? And how about the DS? Have there been any franchises that you think should have stayed on the portable?

How about taking that Megaman series of the DS/PSP and putting it on the Wii. I haven't played a console Megaman, made for a console, in ages.

But I believe console whoring shouldn't be advised. It shows a lack of coherency and direction. As if the developers haven't a clue what they're doing. Lost in Blue is an example of this: loaded with ideas but poorly executed.

Well, most do know what they are doing, it's just that they want to widen out the amount of money they'll be making so they put games like IRONMAN on 20 consoles. LOL, couldn't help but laugh at “Console whoring”. The funniness comes from the truth ;)

I was surprised Trauma Center turned out well on Wii. Stylus on touch screen seems like a better fit for surgery than waving a Wiimote in the air. Meanwhile, I thought the Wiimote would be a better fit for Cooking Mama than the stylus but the Cook-off got worse reviews than either of the DS games. Guess I was wrong on both counts. Glad to see TC is going to continue on both systems though.

My main complaints of Cooking Mama on the Wii:

1. They didn't use the Wii to its fullest.

2. Even though they were running on a lot bigger system than the DS, they still PUT SO FEW RECIPES on the Wii!

Other than that, the Wii version's a good buy if it's a generally cheap price ($20-40). I would advise getting it if you want to tell Majesico "Hey! I think being on the Wii is a great idea, now start improving it!"
