Wal-Mart puts GBA stock on sale
For all of you folk who enjoy using that other game slot on your DS, take note: Wal-Mart is having a sale on select titles. Whether you go with the option of picking up 2 games for $20, or 3 games for $25, it's a fairly decent deal, if we may say so.To sweeten the deal even more, they're allowing you to choose from some compilation games, as well. Titles such as Risk, Battleship & Clue, and Centipede, Breakout & Warlords (!). So, if you're trying to bulk up your collection, you might want to head on over there and check out what titles they have on offer.
Also of note is the retailer's sale on DS games, but we're not sure there's much in their stock worth noting, except for Sonic Rush.

I can't really say where to get "decent" older gba games, but I know that Wal-Mart is definitely not the place. I'd rather not get crap then get crap on sale.

I feel sick looking at all those GBA games knowing they'll probably skyrocket in value in ten years due to NOBODY having bought them, but I still can't rationalize paying $8.33 each for years-old shovelware titles.
Oh, and drmortimer, quality GBA games are incredibly hard to find no matter where you go. I wouldn't say to completely abandon ebay just yet--certainly the powerseller cartels that have no qualms about passing off counterfeits, but, if you're diligent in searching, a listing from a "regular" ebay member consisting of good first and third-party titles will come up every now and again. And bidding, while I personally hate it due to the prevalence of automated sniping software and nuclear bidders, will often net you a better deal than Buy it Now. This all may be useless advice considering that not nearly as many small-time sellers use ebay as they did just a couple of years ago. The ridiculous final value fees and paypal fees have all but driven them out.

As far as I know it's a card-based strategy game (I don't know much more than that, I played a friend's copy for only a few minutes), so, unless you're into that kind of game, be aware of this if you were expecting something on the level of the console PoPs.

Oh, so that was what the >.>;; was for, eh heh. Couldn't tell whether that was expressing embarrassment at just now finding out about PoP DS or sweat-dropping at the concept. It was a fifty-fifty shot. They just announced a new PoP DS that might be more in line with the console versions (or even the side-scrolling ones of the 16-bit era), so here's hoping the idea of a DS offshoot of the franchise is less laughable in the future.

I knew it was a sad time for GBA titles when I saw Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones in a sale of 14.99
Well, good day to me but what an under appreciation. I want Donkey Kong Country 2 and Warioware Microgames in a price they don't pass 40 fucking dollars as in ebay.

In my opinion, the era of the GBA began with gems among game cartridges such as Castlevania: Circle of the Moon and ended with cheap plasticky wastes of money bearing titles like "Finding Nemo" (Which was actually endorsed by Nintendo Power with a full strategy section back in 2003).
Of course, there are a few late blossoms, but if accessories like the Wireless Adapter and games like Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen had arrived sooner, the portable gaming scene would look very different.
