Or, as the overacting on display in this video conveys, the agony of playing the DS in general. Maybe the kind of extreme, wild gesticulation associated with visual depictions of game-playing are what make non-gamers leery of our hobby? Don't worry, non-gamers -- it only looks like you're receiving periodic electric shocks. Playing games is, for the most part, a sedentary experience.

We must admit that we love seeing the classic "gaming" pantomime -- jumping up and down, flailing in the air, and exaggerated motions of exultation and disappointment -- applied to our favorite handheld, in a manner that is quite appropriate to the DS's unique character.

Yeah, this video is so unrealistic. If it were realistic, it'd have a guy (or girl,) sitting there quietly with their brow scrunched up, and on rare occasion they'd let their arms drop to their lap, still holding the DS, and mouthing the word, "fuck."

That's my #1 look. Other than that, I tend to give a little sailor moon salute after nailing someone in Worms. Oddly, the Pete Townsend guitar arm that I picked up when playing real pinball games also creeps into my Metroid Prime Pinball play.

I love being a gamer. I have many drastic reactions, such as when there are tons of enemies in a Mario game and you are moving all around in your seat because you don't know what will happen next.

this exact thing happened to my friend. except it was in Tokyo where the arcade games are often set back to back so you can't see your opponent and it was an old Japanese businessman... oh yeah, and they weren't playing some weird pac-man knock off, they were playing Tekken 3.

This ranks up there with people in movies "hacking into the system." For some reason, the key to hacking is typing ASDFJKL; over and over again as fast as you can while staring intently at the screen...
