Rubik's Cube coming to DS, screwdrivers no longer an option
Publisher The Game Factory has announced plans to bring a puzzle title based on the Rubik's Cube to the DS. Rubik's World will no doubt render our usual technique of solving the famous puzzle (that is, prying it open with a screwdriver) useless. Bah! We've heard that completing the Cube the "proper way" is "more rewarding," but we consider such views to be the ravings of madmen.
Not all is cube-shaped in Rubik's World, however (though we can probably safely assume that the original Cube will be available to play with). Apparently, there will also be a number of different 3D shapes, objects, and mazes to solve, as well as a chance for players to create their own soundtracks, and to "connect to a community of Rubik's World enthusiasts."

Who uses a screwdriver on a Rubik's cube?! You just rearrange the stickers!

In the Japan region, there was a DS-based Rubik's Cube game with a long Japanese name that roughly translates to "Rubik's Cube and other famous puzzles". It was advertised as a "brain trainer". Here's a store link to it:

I have this game, but I derive little satisfaction from it because of the stylus input problems. e.g. you want to turn the right face but sometimes the up face is turned. I have much more fun playing the original (in fact I've been playing Rubik's Cube instead of DS/PSP/cell phone on my commute for the last year, tee hee) You can however, play 3x3, 4x4, 5x5, and even 6x6 on it, which is convenient until the batteries run out, ha.
The DS and Wii game announced in the post seems to be new. I found a picture from Gamasutra:

I would import it, but what I really want is a Rubik's timer and randomizer/recorder like JNetCube on my DS (sounds like a job for homebrew).
