Guitar Hero track listing revealed, ranges from great to Maroon 5

Like Bigfoot, fairies, and (sob) unicorns, the perfect Guitar Hero soundtrack simply doesn't exist. There'll always be stuff we love and stuff we hate on the damn things, and so it is with Guitar Hero: On Tour. Activision just revealed fifteen of the tracks that will appear in On Tour (there'll be 25, eventually), and it's the usual mixed bag. "Breed" by Nirvana? Great choice! "Helicopter" by Bloc Party? We like! "Rock and Roll All Nite" by Kiss? Fair enough. "All Star" by Smash Mouth? Umm ... "This Love" by Maroon 5? What?

WTH? They could of chosen some better songs then that. Or possibly asked Nintendo for permission to do something with the Stemage (Metroid Metal). Well, I still got GH Aerosmith and GH 5.

Not too impressive. The Nirvana and Pat Benetar songs are great, the rest are not.

when is trumpet or saxophone hero coming out? or they could kick my ass and come out with keyboard hero...i can see it now..it will have 88 buttons on it mimiking an actual keyboard....

I might have picked a different song by Maroon 5, but frankly, I'll take "This Love" over Daugherty, or ya' know, freakin' Fall Out Boy on Rockband Uggh. Seriously.

I think it's a pretty decent set list so far. It's 15 really solid songs, 10 more promised, and that's not even counting the fact that there are sure to be hidden tracks. I think people need to remember this is a *portable* release. No matter what we want, it physically cannot stack up to a full on console release. Hell, I'm excited!

The list is incomplete but I can see where this is going, besides, it's not like you can shred � la DragonForce with that kind of "guitar".

This is still Guitar Hero, but easier, simpler (4 fret buttons), and even more newb-friendly (and I thought GH3 was!).

I recognize 3 songs that are also on Guitar Hero 3. And two of those I actually like to play. But I really can't imagine playing along with "This Love" O_o

Wow this sucks. Too bad the people making guitar hero don't know that the best song to put on would be "I believe in a Thing Called Love" by The Darkness.

Anyone who disagrees, seriously listen to all the sweet guitar riffs in that song. That would be the best guitar hero song EVER.

The list of songs isn't that fabulous, but it sure does seem especially short. $50 for 15 songs and a little plastic guitar doo-hickey isn't the best deal.

Agreed. At the risk of being shot, I'm not interested in this game at all, and I'm a guitarist and a fan of guitar hero. There's nothing about it that is reminiscent of playing an actual guitar. Your hands are together, in front of you, probably only a foot from your face. It looks more like stylized accordion playing than guitar playing to me. Four buttons removes any remote resemblance to actual fret movement and will make even Expert a glorified Medium for anyone familiar with the console versions. It's a shame, because Jam Sessions was a failure, imo, so I was ecstatic when they first announced On Tour back in September. I haven't played the game so I can't speak from experience, but everything I've seen, including the partial track list in this article, has failed to impress me.
