Spider-Man: Web of Shadows coming to Wii
Keep in mind, this is not the Wii version
Take note, webheads: a new Spidey game is being made for the Wii (along with those other systems nobody cares about). It's called Spider-Man: Web of Shadows and will once again feature the tried-and-true sandbox mechanic of a fully-explorable New York City. Other than that, we know that the game is being worked on by Treyarch and Shaba Games and will feature some kind of system that allows for customizable superpowers. Also, players will have some control in determining whether they want to be the boyscout do-gooder or a more selfish anti-hero type.
Perhaps even cooler than the news of there being a new game is word that Activision will be holding auditions for folks to do the voiceover work in the game at their booth at the upcoming New York Comic-Con. The winner will be determined by open voting, which will go down at the game's official website here.

As a HUGE spidey-fan I'm excited but also a bit reluctant after sm3 but hold higher hopes since this game isn't a move tie. Still I will have to wait to see some more of the game before I put this on my must have list.

Until they do web-slinging with two Wiimotes (or EFFECTIVE Wiimote-Nunchuk combo), I'm only a tad interested.

@SoshiKitai:
With how bad the motion controlled web-slinging turned out in SM3 I'd prefer they not even attempt it again.

The controls in sm3 were amazing, good for me, but the whole game and the gameplay sucks, I'd like to be Dark Spidey in any moment inside the game, apart of the movie story.
I have hope on this new game because is new in story, and the trailer is great.

"He's not even a real villain! He's an anti-hero, the worst kind! He gives use villains a GOOD name!"
Anybody get that? At all? No?....Awww.....
Anyways, this might be good just because they won't try and tie together a bunch of stuf into a pile 'O' Crap like SM3 was. I just hope they don't even try to make the motion controlled web-slingin again. That was awful! But if they let you pick up people and throw them into the harbor, then I'll totally have some ADD candy in this game!

The Abridged Series. :P Don't worry, I got it.
hvnlysoldr @ Apr 17th 2008 8:43PM
Is that one Berserked? There's something gratifying in the series but all the gay jokes, not the actual homo-erotica, discourages me.
Tom @ Apr 18th 2008 4:43PM
SoshiKitai, you are amazing! I honestly thought no one would get that!
hvnlysoldr: I don;t recall many gay jokes in yugioh the abridged series. Aside form Joey's "Suprise Buttsex!" move in the 2nd movie that is.

Am I the only one who really liked the motion control web slinging in sm3. that was my favorite part
James Madley @ Apr 17th 2008 11:06PM
My mate did. He brought it around one day and showed off the swinging. I didn't try it but he had mastered it, so I guess he and you must be geniuses to do so if so many people couldn't.
Don @ Apr 17th 2008 10:21PM
Treyarch. Ugghh, so it will be *EXACTLY* like every other Spidey game they've come out with... SM1-2-3... and it will also be padded with repeating missions to extend the game length so instead of 5 hours of good, 10 hours of monotonous.
Killed my hopes.

Shadow the Hedgehog with Spider-Man? We've learned our lesson, Activision.

Doesn't that thing at the end look like the alien ships from War of the Worlds?
CJLopez @ Apr 18th 2008 1:37PM
They resembled me more to the aliens war machines that appeared on different cities on the first episode of Justice League
