He's a demon on USB
Are you likely to be spending some money at Target in the near future? Then you might as well head on over there sometime soon and pick up this Speed Racer-themed gift card (which you can use later to buy what you actually wanted in the first place). Even if you're not interested at all in the upcoming game (or movie), you'll still land yourself the free mini USB 2.0 Flash drive that comes with it. The drive only holds 62.8 MB worth of stuff, but should that bother you, you're missing the key word here -- free.
Initially, 51.6 MB will be taken up by promotional Speed Racer goodies, but that stuff can always be deleted. Those of you who are looking forward to seeing the Mach 5 in action soon enough, though, might enjoy some of the extras provided. According to GamerTell, the drive includes:

- Five coloring book-style pages featuring the Mach 5 and Racer X's car (PDF file)
- A coupon for $1 off a Speed Racer Powerburst racer and $3 off a Speed Racer Powerburst figure-8 track set (PDF file)
- Two Speed Racer desktop wallpapers
- A Speed Racer family movie (MOV and WMV files)
- A special code for the Wii version of the video game (we wonder what that will do/unlock?)
Due to the nature of the internet, we're sure you'll be able to find the game code without buying the Flash drive-bundled gift card. Still, we recommend getting one of these pseudo-free sticks if Target is one of your regular stomping grounds.

Thanks for the info WiiFanboy! Although the new movie turns my stomach (It's gonna skewer and destroy Speed Racer imo) and the game will undoubtedly suck, free memory IS good!

How can you skewer and destroy Speed Racer when it already undoubtedly and awesomely lame?
The only way you could destroy Speed Racer is if the entire movie was actually AMAZINGLY GOOD AND WELL SCRIPTED!!! :P

I actually can't wait for this movie, and well I'm a bit tempted to buy that gift card, yet I'll feel like a retard buying (and then again when I spend) a speed racer gift card.

The sad thing is, I own a 1 GB USB drive that i purchased a few years back for $70. I have exactly 12.7 MB on it right now.

The only one left in civilization with uncanny knowledge of the machines is none other than famed scientist Dr...... Wily! Quick, let's elect him President! Obviously he knows about the machines because he's here to help us, and not himself!
.....oh.

New Title: "Least Wii-related post on WiiFanboy"
Candace Savino @ Apr 18th 2008 9:20AM
Sorry. While this post was originally meant to inform people about the code on the Speed Racer USB that would unlock stuff in the game, it seemed kind of silly to not mention the other things on the USB and the fact that it was essentially free. So I apologize if I got a little too tangential or emphasized the non-Wii related bits of the post. I just get really excited about cheap/free stuff :)
Rocketboy @ Apr 18th 2008 11:19AM
Don't worry Candace... Is Speed Racer coming out on the Wii? Is this Wii related? Yes and Yes.
