Don't tell Majesco you dislike their games
No. We're serious. Because, really, would you want to make Mama mad? Former GameSpot scribe Alex Navarros apparently couldn't care less, because he slapped a six out of ten on Cooking Mama 2: Dinner with Friends back in February, and got a vitriolic letter from publisher Majesco for his troubles.
It's a delightfully sarcastic retort, with the author of the letter noting that "With the first Cooking Mama reaching 1 million units in Europe and near of 1 million stateside, I began to worry that this might begin to go to our heads. Majesco's parking lot would be flooded with Bentley's, Maybach's and rare hybrid cars that run on pure ego." Hit the break for the petulant tirade in full.

You could've summed up the letter with one word:
BAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWW

Classy, Majesco, Classy
in return fire the reviewer has an obligation to review how he feels and not give everything a 9/10 just because.......if they want higher reviews just make better games.........and im not saying its a bad game and doesnt deserve credit or that the people didnt work hard on it but it is simple.......only good games should get good reviews

Good come back Majesco!
Good games sell, nothing the idiots at Gamespot say will ultimately hurt the sales of Cooking Mama 2 (which I bought already).
I guess Majesco didn't buy enough ad space on Gamespot/CNET, so they got a poor review. You have to bribe Gamespot. Ask Jeff Gerstmann. Gamespot staff have been leaving like rats on a sinking ship, since he got fired.
I removed my bookmark for Gamespot a long time ago. Anything worthwhile posted at Gamespot will be reported here at DS Fanboy anyway.
Peace.

Really?
Good Games sell? Look at Okami and Zak And Wiki, and Psychonauts, and Killer 7. Great games that didn't sell
Meanwhile, Hannah Montana, Cars, and Boogie sold very well. Oh, and Imagine: Fashion Designer
Are you saying those games are the better games?
Mad Martin Kinderhook @ Apr 15th 2008 3:28PM
That passive aggressive notes site is amazing. Thanks for introducing me to it by way of the article on the Majesco letter.
usagi704 @ Apr 15th 2008 3:37PM
Majesco needs a wambulance.
Ryan Hartman @ Apr 15th 2008 3:44PM
What a sissy-baby. Is that a water mark in the corner or where the tears happened to hit the paper?
I never knew Majesco employed emo programmers. Seriously. A company that makes a game called "Cooking Mama," who would have thought they would get a salty vag about a bad review.
I never saw that one coming.
Reuben @ Apr 15th 2008 3:46PM
Am I the only one that cannot believe that there is actually a game called Cooking Mama in the first place?
TheFreak @ Apr 15th 2008 4:10PM
In a business that praises Italian plumbers for stomping on sentient mushrooms and gaining power from magically-imbued fungi, it's amazing such a game never happened sooner.
TheFreak @ Apr 15th 2008 4:12PM
Never mind that I just repeated myself with the 'mushroom' commentary. I haven't had much sleep lately.

Reminds me of Factor 5 with Lair. YOU'RE REVIEWNG IT WRONG!
Fiefdom @ Apr 15th 2008 5:44PM
Haha, hahahahahahahahahah! I can't believe that half of you are categorizing this hilarious letter as the result of a stupid emotional tirade. There's is no demand that the score be removed nor is there any suggestion that Majesco would seek any sort of retaliatory measures. I think whoever wrote and authorized this has a great sense of humor. :)
Eleniel @ Apr 15th 2008 9:22PM
For real. It's hilarious!
Matdredalia @ Apr 16th 2008 10:58PM
I'm with you, I thought the letter was hysterical.
Honestly, when I read the review on GameSpot, I just shook my head and rolled my eyes at most of it, especially after playing Cooking Mama 2.
The review was more "Emo" than that letter ever even thought to be.
The sad thing is, more and more, GameSpot's reviews mean less and less to me. Half the time, they give the games I love bad reviews, and the games I hate good ones. It's getting to the point that I just go there for screenshots.
KamenRiderTakoyaki @ Apr 15th 2008 5:45PM
Majesco, why are you worried about reviews?
Look at the last 50 cent game? How the F did it sell over a million units?
Aparoid @ Apr 15th 2008 8:00PM
If Majesco thinks one person's opinion is going to affect sales, they've got bigger problems.
Demotruk @ Apr 15th 2008 8:25PM
The reviewer is also just working to pay his bills. I don't understand the point of this letter...

TriptychR @ Apr 15th 2008 10:19PM
It was funny in the beginning, but the comments at the end about just trying to make a living seem to convey an overall bitterness.
hvnlysoldr @ Apr 16th 2008 1:56PM
I think points were taken off because the game had some improvements but wasn't a "real" sequel. Basically Madden
