Trade-ins can get you Mario Kart for $10
We haven't come across many deals for Mario Kart Wii, but one way that you might be able to get the game cheaply is through GameStop. By now, most of you are probably familiar with how the games retailer works (and can efficiently read post titles), so the fact that trade-ins are involved shouldn't surprise you. Specifically, though, this deal is like the recent Brawl one -- you have to trade in two games from a preset list of titles, and then you can pick up Mario Kart for ten dollars.Just check after the break for the complete list to see if there are any two games you can part with.

If my girlfriend would let me get rid of Carnival Games I could bring in Rayman Raving Rabbids as well! That probably will not happen.
Timdogg @ Apr 7th 2008 1:38PM
...or you could sale the two games on eBay and make a little extra cabbage for the next title you want!
Undead Priest @ Apr 7th 2008 4:58PM
...or you could sell.
Timdogg @ Apr 7th 2008 5:28PM
Harsh much... yeah I guess I could do that too...I could also sail or something else too...*off to ponder the english language.

They listed Brawl. ROFL.
Mr Khan @ Apr 7th 2008 2:23PM
so $100 of retail stuff gets me $40 off?
Its better than other "deals" they've pulled, especially given that some of the games on that list are worth less than that
vidGuy @ Apr 7th 2008 4:45PM
If you look in the right place you can get some of these games for $10-$15. So you get $40 off for trading in $20-$30 of material. Pretty good if you ask me.

michael @ Apr 7th 2008 2:32PM
I could easily drop Cooking Mama and Mario Strikers Charged. Haven't played them as much as I thought I would have... hmmm...
Mr Khan @ Apr 7th 2008 2:49PM
Oh i haven't played Strikers Charged at all since August
But i know, one day, i will
David Hinkle @ Apr 7th 2008 3:11PM
Well, you know, we do a little thing here called Game Night where you could find some folks to play that with. :)

TBH, i picked up Mario strikers due to the wifi aspect, but sports games aren't really my bag. I work full time and am a student part time. it's hard enough to get my game on with the games I REALLY REALLY wanna play - let alone all the games I bought but have just sat there (Marvel Alliance.. ouch, my bad).
Eddie @ Apr 7th 2008 2:42PM
it's worth it to note that if you take games in that are worth more than 20 dollars (brawl, mario galaxy) they still tack on the extra money, even if it exceeds the 40 bucks. this really wasn't a bad idea for brawl, considering the amount of people literally clamoring for it, but i don't know about mario kart.
Alex @ Apr 7th 2008 3:27PM
Well I never plan to play Ghost Squad again, but I don't have the box for that game, so... I dunno if they'll take it. But no other game I have I am willing to get rid of.
Tom @ Apr 7th 2008 3:37PM
There's quite a few stupid titles in that list, but SERIOUSLY!!!! Givin up Brawl, Galaxy, Corruption, TP, RE4, No More Heroes, Strikers,MoHH2, etc for Mario Kart? No thanks.
zrockstar @ Apr 7th 2008 3:43PM
If you're like me, and picked up Brawl but never play it! You can trade it in at Blockbuster for $35 and pick up Mario Kart Wii for $15. Not a bad deal for trading in one game. I think I've only played Brawl once. It was with friends over, but no one enjoyed it becuase they're not into fighting games and didn't know how to play, so we moved on to carnival games, etc. I think MK will be much more party friendly!
JMO of course

What a strange individual....

Carnival Games over Brawl...
Wow, just wow.
Candace Savino @ Apr 7th 2008 7:51PM
C'mon guys, it's all good. To each his own :).
Dig @ Apr 7th 2008 4:00PM
Okami? That will only be out for two weeks before Mario Kart arrives.
steve @ Apr 7th 2008 5:53PM
brawl for mario kart....
BLASPHEMY!!!
zrockstar @ Apr 8th 2008 7:38PM
You guys have to understand that you must be a "fighting" game fan (no other "real" play than battling with one or more players) to enjoy this game. I never did like the boxing games on NES, or any other game that didn't have a story or goal. Don't get me wrong, I totally see the strategy side and see how some people absolutely love these games. But believe me, it's not for everyone. I totally fell into the hype of this game from everyone who is obviously a "fighting" game fan, and bought the game with no other knowledge. I thought the single-player campaign would make up for it...mistake. I would wager to say though that I am not the only nintendo fan boy who is not a Brawl kind of guy. So yes a trade in for MKwii makes perfect sense!!!!
Nmaster @ Apr 7th 2008 7:46PM
I have a handful of those games as a matter of fact...
I'm not parting with any of 'em... :C
abe @ Apr 25th 2008 5:37PM
if you sell super smash brawl and super Mario galaxy you get $66 instead of trading both for $40
