As No More Heroes' price falls, its awesomeness rises
Hey, you! No, not you, kid, the person over 17 next to you. Buy No More Heroes! Your concerns about finances are becoming increasingly irrelevant, because the price on Amazon keeps dropping. It's currently at $33.99 with free shipping available!
We would recommend No More Heroes to anyone (of the appropriate age) who enjoys action games -- and we did! It's by far the best action game on the system, and it holds up well against other action games of the last couple of generations. In fact, just talking about it now makes us want to turn on the Wii and get back into our second playthrough.

Well now anyone who hasn't bought it has no excuse. Buy this game, peoples!

Attention Wii owners of 17 years or older: if you do not own this game then I'm angry at you now. If I manage to identify you on the street, expect an angry tirade, followed by a swift headbutt to the nose.
Thank you.

Attention Wii owners of 16 years and younger: Tell your big brother to buy this game. :P
Dio @ Apr 5th 2008 4:02PM
Gah, I've been really wanting to buy this for the past few days but Paypal takes FOREVER to transfer money from a bank account. By forever I mean 3-5 days. And Paypal and my bank likes to take the maximum amount of time. Oh, and if I initiate the transfer at night, then it's twelve hours or more. So it's really 5.5-6 days. brb crying.

I'm going to be truthfully honest here, why does everyone love this game so much? I had it and thought it was terrible. The whole idea of earning money between eliminating the top ten killers was nothing less of repeating boring jobs hundreds of times that involved wii-mote ideas that were never fleshed out to truly be something beyond Wario ware like games. The story was not that well developed as well, and yes I finished the game 100% completely just to see if the game got better, but it never did.
To me, both Killer 7 and No More Heroes were just terrible over hyped ideas, similar to the Halo 3.
Hell out of all the games I've played so far; only MP3, Zelda TP, SSBB, and Mario Galaxy have remotely held my interest longer then a week tops before I returned those games to Gamestop for something else.
People if you want to complain about my comments, redirect them at the closest brick wall.
ArmorForVictor @ Apr 5th 2008 4:46PM
yeah i don't know why everyone loves this game so much. i just don't see it being my kind of game. it may be great to some of you, but to others it may not be so don't shove it down their throat.
Fanatism @ Apr 5th 2008 4:50PM
Well, they are really niche titles in some ways, and thus probably won't be liked by everyone. Even if NMH is a little bit more mainstream friendly, it's still an experience you can have whatever opinion you like.
But I can't really see any resemblance to Halo. In a matter of hype - maybe, if you compare a monkey to a elephant by size.
SoshiKitai @ Apr 5th 2008 5:46PM
It was your fault you fell for the hype.
Heck, I never fall for hypes when I don't like 'em. :P
It's about time you people start thinking for yourself than trying to read reviews. ...go for videos instead of pictures.
Hell, if a movie got a good review, does that mean you'll like it?
HELLL NO! ... :/ I HATED 007 Casino Royale...
bermana @ Apr 5th 2008 11:49PM
"everyone" "loves" this game "so much" because of a propaganda/astroturfing blitz most likely paid for by the company.
SoshiKitai @ Apr 6th 2008 12:09AM
Uhhh... that's probably the stupidest excuse I've ever heard...
propa...ganda? Oh yeah, it was definitely propanga... because they did so well in Japan! SO WELL!
And he totally came here and tried to pay for great advertising and for great reviews!
*biggest eye roll in the world*
What the hell?! I have to say, this was the worst excuse ever created.
Ihar `Philips` Filipau @ Apr 5th 2008 4:25PM
It is still 60€ over here in Yorupe... ;_;
Legion @ Apr 5th 2008 4:48PM
MLL, I actually agree with you. I bought this game thinking that it was the next big thing due to all the hype and reviews.
I enjoyed it at first but it got way too repetitive and the combat system was somewhat plain and boring.
I like the humor and the old classic console throwbacks, but other than that this was kind of a sleeper for me.
Mountain lion link @ Apr 5th 2008 5:36PM
No More Heroes has been shoved down our throats here on Wii fanboy. However after playing the game, it wasn't that good. I really wanted my wasted hype back, with extra compensation.
Mainly my idea is that anyone who likes a game with cartoonist blood reactions needs to actually witness real blood on the not safe level. People don't explode into blood fountains once their heads are gone, yeah the blood goes high into the air from heart pressure but not gallons.
However I can only complain so much since this is one of the only Wii game sites that is not blocked at my work.
SoshiKitai @ Apr 5th 2008 5:50PM
Umm... Mountain Lion Link...
Don't forget Anime Rule # 18:
#18- Law of Hemoglobin Capacity- the human body contains over 12 gallons of blood,
sometimes more, under high pressure
And seeing that it was an anime-style game (being the kid is otaku and all, and that the boss fights are anime-style-dramatic), it's not a surprise that the rules apply.
Mr Khan @ Apr 5th 2008 6:28PM
You are certainly entitled to your opinion, but to deride the game's art style as not being realistic, when a few other things in the game
(SPOILERS START HERE)
like how his sister summons that purple Energy dragon thing with her fist
(/SPOILERS)
should clue you in, Its very over-the-top, and you can take it or leave it like that
Not deriding your opinion, but the visceral style was never meant to be real
Sean jdahsdka @ Apr 5th 2008 6:54PM
I'd buy it if I was 17, to bad I'm not. Stupid ESRB
capt.strugglebunny @ Apr 5th 2008 7:36PM
Just buy it anyway. It's not like the ESRB is the law. Some place won't give a crap and will sell it to you.
Dio @ Apr 5th 2008 11:35PM
It would certainly be a good time to make older friends :D
Hame @ Apr 5th 2008 7:23PM

Lloyddobler @ Apr 5th 2008 10:23PM
Was just gonna post that, got mine!! It was in stock then out then in, so hopefully, it'll be back up. Good luck folks.
Bainge @ Apr 5th 2008 11:01PM
I swear this website sucks up to No More Heroes waaay too much.
SoshiKitai @ Apr 5th 2008 11:32PM
Not with the large amount of you leaving posts like this. :P
Evil Bastard @ Apr 6th 2008 1:38AM
I am on my second play through, on Mild, and I must say I am loving it still.
Somehow moves that were not there in the first play through, are there now. Plus pulling off wrestling moves, and getting 777s, bar bar bar, cherry cherry cherry, are happening more often.
I haven't had to pull of a job to earn money and I am working on Rank 6. The Bitch On The Beach is a tough one 2nd time through, at least for me.
Mike @ Apr 6th 2008 9:06AM
Done. I've been wanting to pick this up and now I had no excuse. Thanks fanboy for the heads-up.
Alex @ Apr 6th 2008 12:55PM
Oh man, should I buy it now? I do have $35 on my PayPal account and that money has been burning a hole in my pocket, I want to spend it! And man how I want No More Heroes, yet today is my last day of Spring Break, oh and Mario Kart Wii, I can't deside, should I splurge and get NMH now?
Nate @ Apr 7th 2008 12:09PM
Okay, I bit. The price is low enough that I finally bit. This blog LOVES this game, and I really know nothing about it (even the net reviews seems sketchy as to what the game is), but I'll try...
