Guitar Hero: Aerosmith gets more non-Aerosmith tracks
For all of you that were hoping a game called Guitar Hero: Aerosmith would contain as littleAerosmith as possible , know that today pushes the title further into your good graces. A slew of new bands were confirmed to be in the game and not a single one of them is called Aerosmith.
New tracks confirmed for Guitar Hero: Aerosmith (via Game Informer) include Mott the Hoople's "All the Young Dudes", The Kinks with "All Day and All Night," Joan Jett with "Hate Myself for Loving You" and Cheap Trick with "Dream Police." While not entirely clued in to the kids and their crazy music, our interest in this game is growing through each new non-Aerosmith song. What about you all?

I have already pre-orderd.
'Nuff Said.

Again with the Aerosmith hate....why? WHY!?!
I would definitely buy a game containing solely Aerosmith tracks. My interest actually decreases a little with each non-Aerosmith track introduced...

I don't mind if the career mode is all Aerosmith, but there has to be some kind of diversity, otherwise things will get old. Fill the bonus setlist with new artists, and niche songs, and some good standards, otherwise after a while, you only play the standard setlist to unlock the bonuses.
Guitar hero is not just for video game lovers, it's for music lovers too. It's for all those guys who never made it playing the guitar; it gives them a chance to take the stage. If you stack the deck with all Aerosmith songs, you might feel like you're in Aerosmith. Then again, you might think that you're in an Aerosmith cover band, stuck playing a bunch of songs that you like, but not being able to break the shackles of merely being in an Aerosmith cover band.

Hmm...I guess you are right.
:P

I don't see how anyone can call themselves a music lover if they bash one of the biggest, most important bands in rock history. (I'm not referring to you. :P)

Awesome. With these '70s centric tracks, it gives me hope that there will be a lot more of the good '70s Aerosmith rock tracks than their post-Permanent Vacation pop crap.
Wraith_242 @ Mar 25th 2008 4:59PM
Aerosmith sucks. (in my opinion) I want alot more modern alternative rock. GH3 did relly good but a pure modern GH would sell like crazy since its all kids playing it. I mean we had a rock the 80's how bout some stuff thats not ancient.
Roto13 @ Mar 25th 2008 5:05PM
Piffle. If anything, Guitar Hero needs MORE classic rock.

::snore::
at least it's not aerosmith. DLC?

While this is all great and dandy, I'm a bit confused. They seem to all want to go into the DLC era, and then they go backwards...
While I don't own a ps3 or 360 yet, thus don't have the option to play rock band with hundreds of songs to dload... that game just seems like a much better deal. So what...you get to play as a band who now if you go to their concerts he's so F*ed up he curses through the whole concert because he keeps forgetting the lyrics, who cares. At the end of the day you are playing a band's music that will probably be available on MTV's offering. The "story" of it all I can personally live without.
I think packs like this, and the 80's pack are kinda out of date. I really hope the Wii will get a harddrive one day so these incomplete guitar hero games stop being produced from pressure from games like Rock Band who allows you to play pretty much any popular song anyway.
It's a shame Nintendo isn't being very open minded as far as storage space is concerned. Then again, I wish Rock Band would have DLC and just let you put in SD cards instead... god knows i have half a dozen 1G cards laying around my desk. I'm sure that could amount to a least a few dozen extra tracks. They could put the dload area in WiiWare. Common Nintendo, I love ya to pieces, but you should be one step ahead of us, not behind.

Joan Jett.. always awesome. And yeah, Roto, I agree with you, but everybody knows it's so cool and rebellious to hate on those classic rock bands, and then listen to Panic at the Disco or some equally ridiculous band that has contributed absolutely nothing to rock whatsoever.

After Harmonix's decision to not use the GH3 guitar for RB, this game looks a lot more appealing.
ArmorForVictor @ Mar 26th 2008 5:02PM
harmonix wants to use the gh3 guitar for rock band, but activision wants money for the compatibility. same thing is still going on for ps3 users like me and doesn't seem likely to get fixed anytime soon. i believe harmonix even has the patch ready for the ps3, but activision won't let them release it. probably the same thing for wii owners.

I've listened to rock music quite awhile and even checke dout the really old songs....but IMHO newer rock(real rock not Panic at the disco) is alot better.
But I ain't touching this as I'm not a big fan of AS or the bands related to them, in fact I hate most of them.....
Brendon @ Mar 26th 2008 12:19AM
I try to sleep, I'm wide awake, they won't let me alone...
John @ Mar 26th 2008 2:34AM
Simply put, GH or RockBand on the Wii needs DLC. As for 70s era bands? How about some T. Rex, Petty, Zepplin and The Faces? For something late 80s that works wonders as a cover song at a bar... and probably as equal at home: Britny Fox: Girl School.
Talanos @ Mar 26th 2008 9:45AM
I would kill for GH: Led Zeppelin.
kenny @ Mar 28th 2008 3:19PM
i second that.
