Gamestop shreds out Guitar Hero price, release date
A listing for Guitar Hero: On Tour has appeared on the site of retailer Gamestop, revealing both a release date and price for Vicarious Visions' shred-a-thon. While neither has been officially confirmed by publisher Activision, Gamestop's date (June 29th) does at least fall in line with Activision's announcement from Wednesday regarding a summer release. What's probably of greater interest is the price. Because the title is to ship with the much-discussed Guitar Grip, Gamestop has On Tour listed for $49.99. Which begs the next, obvious question: will you pay the extra monies to rock out portably?
[Thanks, Max!]

One concern I have, is that Amazon stated that the game will only have "25+ songs"... I had expected more, considering that the new Taiko no Tatsujin boasted 50+ songs. I know this is a weird comparison, but fundamentally they are both music games.
If the song line-up is good, I wouldn't mind paying $49.99 for it though. For now I'll just wait and see.

yeah thats about what I expected......i mean guitar hero games are always pricey......49.99 is reasonable....

I love my DS, but a guitar it is not. I'll be holding out for inevitable future Wii-related Guitar Heroes/Villians/Robots/Monkeys.
Blue_Falcon @ Mar 21st 2008 10:14AM
I'll pay that price if the track list is good enough.

I dunno...Sounds kinda cool and different, but it all depends on what songs are in it.

Honestly, I personally feel Guitar Hero needs a TV to work well. So I'll stick with my small yappy dog.

I'd pay for it. After getting over shock from sticker price, it still seems impossible for the game to be bad, so I'm still very interested in it.

I would pay it. I love Guitar Hero and I would love to play it on long ferry rides. I find consoles to be too constricting; you have to be near a TV. I'm glad this franchise is coming to portable gamers. I'm just worried about the sound quality coming out of the DS.

I'm worrying about the sound quality coming out of "Daughtry"
Matdredalia @ Mar 21st 2008 4:29PM
Yeah, I'd pay it, as long as the track listing is good. I think the Guitar Grip is amazing and it would be a really cool accessory to have.
I only hope that if they put any future guitar hero games on the DS, they'll allow you to buy the game without the grip so I won't have to purchase a 2nd one and can use it for more than just one game.

I agree with Blue_Falcon and others here. The track list will determine if I buy it or not. The price is what I expected,.

The answer for me is: Nope! Even if it does have OK Go in it >
