Mega Man Star Force 2 forces details upon us

While the last Star Force game came in three different "flavors" (Dragon, Pegasus, and Leo), Mega Man Star Force 2 will only have two versions to choose from (Zerker x Ninja and Zerker x Saurian). Depending on which iteration you choose to buy, Mega Man will have different powers. The Zerker element (which is in both games) will give Mega Man a lightning-powered sword, the Ninja element will increase his speed and let him throw a big Shurikan, and the Saurian element will give him the power of "explosive fiery fists." As for the storyline, the game will take place two months after the ending of its predecessor, and involves a new trouble-making character named "Rogue."
Other than that, the characters, graphics, and battle system appear to be the same or similar, meaning that if you enjoyed the first Star Force title, you'll probably like this one too (and vice versa). The online component sounds slightly deeper, though, allowing you to either battle, share cards, share upgrades, or aid in transformation upgrades.
The game is scheduled to hit the DS in June, so those of you anticipating it won't have to wait all that long.

>.> I'm happy to say, I'm totally looking forward to these games. Particularly the Dinosaur version. ;p I enjoyed the story in the first one, though I miss the battle system from the Battle Network games.

I liked the first one (I got Pegasus) so I'll definitely pick up the Ninja version =)

Am I the only one who thinks those titles are both absurd and insipid?
Taiyz @ Mar 15th 2008 12:44AM
It would be better if they didn't try to stylize it. Zerker is supposed to be Berserk and Saurian is supposed to be Dinosaur. The Shinobi/Ninja conversion could be worse, however.

I got the first one [Dragon] and I'll definitely be getting the Shinobi one. Ninjas are awesome and there's just something about the wood element.

AMEN!
I'd absolutely FLIP THE FRICK OUT if there was a decent megaman game on the DS- imagine using the touch screen to switch powers out.
To be fair, I've never played either game, but I have indeed played actual real-honest-to-goodness megaman games and I was pumped about this until I realized that it wasn't actually megaman.
NINTENDO- are you listening? Megaman on the DS plzkthx.

Er, thats what Megaman ZX and ZX Advent are... complete with power-switching on the touch screen and annoying platforming sequences

I've played bits of this in Japanese, and it is a much bette game than the first. It even draws in more ties with the anime (minus story.) This is the first I've heard of its English release and I'm stoked. I didn't how ever, realize the name changes to Zerker and Saurian. I sure don't see a need? Was Dinosaur not English enough? I'm resisting my transformation into rabid fanboy mode but come on Capcom, don't butcher these titles anymore please? (Boktai cuts anyone?)
