Gamestop preorder bonus for Harvest Moon DS Cute is cute
The most recent battle of wills comes with Gamestop's bonus for Harvest Moon DS Cute. If you couldn't tell from the picture above, it's a plush cat! That may not seem like a big deal for many of you -- after all, what's another cheap stuffed animal? -- but here at DS Fanboy, we love cats (especially the "lol" kind). Maybe not as much as we love pugs, but we digress.
We like the Harvest Moon series anyway, so normally preordering this game wouldn't be an issue. Yet, since two Harvest Moon games are coming out pretty close to each other, we were hoping to spend our money on Island of Happiness instead. Cute is essentially the same game as Harvest Moon DS, except that the main character is a girl rather than a boy (plus, a few other minor additions). Island of Happiness, on the other hand, is a completely new game with a Lost in Blue meets Harvest Moon concept.
We probably won't waver in our decision to stick with Island of Happiness, but if you're a fan of the franchise and haven't played Harvest Moon DS yet, this preorder bonus might make the purchase a worthwhile one.

Though they are technically the same game, they are also very different...technically.
At least I hope. This version better get rid of the overwhelming glitches in the old version. Plus, since I'm a girl, I'd much rather chase after Mustafa or Skye. :D
Oh, also, kitties are awesome. That's a huge plus.

gamestop can be so cruel to our wallets?
gamestop is just cruel in the sense that i get bugged out of my mind every time i purchase a game from there and they tell me a whole list of games i can preorder only to tell them no everytime. although i do only preorder games if they have a little bonus so i can understand.

I've never played harvest moon....is it better than say.....animal crossing? Because I must admit I get bored of animal crossing, there aren't enough things to DO. I like always having a task available to me, doesn't matter how monotonous.

There's definitely always something to do in Harvest Moon, though the things to do *are* monotonous, for the most part. I mean that in a good way, though -- I've enjoyed quite a few Harvest Moon games.

I preordered it. ^_^ I haven't played HMDS yet...but even if I owned it, I'd still buy this game. ^^ And IoH. X3 Just because I can!
