Hudson to bring Tetris to Wii Ware this summer
Following this morning's revealed pricing plans and launch date for Wii Ware in Japan, Hudson Soft unveiled a familiar puzzler for the video game download service -- Tetris. This marks the publisher's fourth announced Wii Ware title, the other three being Star Soldier R, Bomberman, and Joysound (karaoke). Thumbs up to Hudson for an excellent Wii Ware lineup!
As with Dr. Mario & Bacillus Extermination, this edition of Tetris will include Mii support and a cooperative mode. While that sounds great, what's up with the blasé Mii expressions in these screenshots? Has years of playing Tetris on their handhelds/phones/graphing calculators dulled them to the game? Perhaps the six-player online matches will win them over? Hudson hasn't announced a specific price or date for Tetris yet, but you can expect to see the game hit the Wii Shopping Channel this summer.

It'd be kinda neat if somehow you could play against Tetris DS players as well.

I liked multiplayer tetris online for the dreamcast.
When you made a certain number of lines (or more) disappear, the other persons screen messed up, making it harder for them.
If this is 6-player and anything like that one I will but it in a heartbeat.
I would kill for ChooChoo Rocket Wii.

Oh yeah, ChuChu Rocket! I had totally forgotten about that
Those little mice are to die for, one of the few puzzle games i love, let alone one of the few I can tolerate.

This is a must buy for me. I wonder if they will have a mode that will allow you to rotate the remote to turn the pieces and use the IR pointing function to place the pieces. A mode like that could be fun in small doses, but probably not as accurate as a standard D-pad control.

If they figure out a way for players to use their own music, it'll be a lock. (Am I the only one who prefers his falling blocks to be accompanied by Russianesque music?)

Glad to hear another good game is headed to WiiWare.
However, as much as I love Tetris, I won't be getting this one as Tetris DS serves all my Wi-Fi Tetris needs. I may consider getting Bomberman though depending on price and features.
Dr. Mario, however, is a day-1 download for me (although this is irrelevant since Hudson isn't making it; forgive me, I'm excited for it!)
