Guns don't kill people, terrible peripherals do
Even with its folding clutch and laser sight (requires 2 x AAA batteries, not included), the WiiMAX isn't impressing anyone. Actually, those two selling points only add on to our suspicions that this light gun was assembled out of whatever plastic bits were available in the factory. That front grip? Leftover umbrella handles. The attachable scope? Grabbed from a surplus of toilet paper holders.
Is there even a purpose for that folding handle? How are you supposed to pull the Wii remote's trigger if you're holding onto the grip? And whose idea was it to price this crapcessory at $21.17? Bring a roll of TP past the break for more photos of the WiiMAX.

Laser sight? Are there any shooting games on the Wii that don't have crosshairs by default?
Jeremy @ Mar 3rd 2008 1:57PM
My thoughts exactly. I have yet to see a game without the crosshairs. Although you have to option to turn them off in House of the Dead 2 and 3.

Not only that, but anyone who has played with Wiimote aiming for 5 minutes knows that it's not accurate. The laser and the cross hairs would be pointing in different places most of the time.
But, all things considered, it's still a better design over the official zapper shell... if one holds it more like a shotgun.

A wii giving a thumbs up...ROFL LMAO!

did you just say 'Rolling on Floor Laughing Laughing my Ass off"?
hvnlysoldr @ Mar 3rd 2008 2:00PM
At that price I'd buy Wii Zapper since it'll at least comes with a demo.

Sorry I have to laugh at all the peripherals that all these companies are making. It is like every company that makes anything generic is trying to jump on board the Wii wagon.
Nate @ Mar 3rd 2008 2:33PM
That is just terrible! Arg, bad accessories...
Croove55 @ Mar 3rd 2008 2:56PM
WAIT! I FIGURED IT OUT!
These peripherals are designed terribly on PURPOSE. See, if you tell your friends that you beat umbrella chronicles using a Wiimax, it's like saying you won a game of football whilst handcuffed to a live polar bear.
....Or I guess they could be making cheap peripherals in the hope that out of touch relatives will buy them for their grandchildren, nieces and nephews, thus turning a cheap buck. But... my hypothesis is the better one, as it implies that the world isn't full of assholes.

I personally can't wait to play Wii Sports with this thing like it shows in the top corner of the box! At least, that's what I assume those icons are...

Wow. At least the Wii Zapper comes with a demo and WORKs with games, not to mention it actually enhances the experience.
But the Wii giving you a thumbs up is a reassurance. It's saying "Hang in there. We can be strong and get past the evil of shitty accessories together!"
