The DS Life: First-person gaming

The DS Life is a weekly feature in which we scour the known world for narrative images of Nintendo's handhelds and handheld gamers. If you have a photo and a story to match it with, send both to thedslife at dsfanboy dot com.

We're breaking away from our usual routine this week -- instead of fawning over touching scenes of handheld gamers, we'll look through ten pictures taken from the gamers's point of view. These photographs can reveal a lot about the shutterbugs who took them! You know, besides what game they were playing at the time.

This woman was in the middle of knitting herself some gloves before she took a break to play some Taiko no Tatsujin. The fingertips will have to wait!

The owner of this beautiful Ice Blue DS Lite doesn't feel alive unless she's torturing chocobos by poking them in the eye.

Beneath a Steel Sky! Here's a guy out for adventure, and he's willing to brave the homebrew scene to find it!

"Hey, want a free DS? No, there's nothing wrong with it. Well, uh, except for this Tamagotchi Connection cart."

Whoops, how did this picture of a foot-person gamer get mixed in with this collection?

Winning isn't enough for this player -- he needs to watch himself take a victory lap and photograph the moment for future gloating.

One last dramatic photo before he abandoned the loyal puppy and the Nintendogs cart for a newer, more exciting game. :o(

Another girl who dropped what she was doing to play her game. Will she ever remember to paint the rest of her toenails?

Why does this one look smaller than all the others?

Wait, this isn't any Nintendo game we've ever seen.
