Wii Warm Up: The Wii 2.0

We already talked about when we thought the next Nintendo console would show up, but we didn't really discuss what to call it. So, why not do that now? We gather that some minimalists might be satisfied by "Wii 2," but does anyone else have any better ideas?

Any takers for "Zardoz?"

They should call it what I had hoped they would have called the Wii.....the ultimate retro throwback name that also screams new and exciting "NEX"

Wii. Like the iPod, I have a feeling that the name is going to be worth so much that Nintendo will just keep it. You'll have two Wiis on the market, one at $99 and the other at $249. The new Wii will be back-compatible and will have to be clearly marked as a next gen console.

They will call it "Wii HD".

It will be called this because the two main features the next Wii will have that the current one doesn't is:

1. a Hard Drive
2. High Definition graphics

Since X comes after W it should be called the Xii, obviously pronounced Zee. Or the VI (since Vii is already taken), and it could be read as 6 being as it would be Nintendo's 6th home console or just the plain old Nintendo 6.

This is all just crazy talk, there isn't going to be another console *or* another game after Smash Bros, there will only be "attempts"

The "next Wii", will merely be a chip imbedded into our brains that will allow us to Brawl without the inconveniences of televisions or controllers... then we'll all need to be hooked to feeding tubes... Sony will make those....
