Win a not-quite-Endless cruise from Nintendo
If you haven't already, you kids might want to point your cursors towards EndlessOcean.com. Although doing so will mean you have to endure a few seconds of Endless Ocean's God-awful Enya-esque soundtrack (while you scrabble around frantically for the 'Mute' button), it could be totally worth it. See, Nintendo and Norwegian Cruise Line have combined to generously offer three lucky people a seven-day Caribbean cruise for two, on board a ship that looks a lot like the one above.
It's all part of promoting Nintendo's casual gamer-friendly diving sim. Yours truly was rather grumbly about the game itself in our review but, y'know, free cruise. You can even enter once a day between now and February 29th, though if you're under 18 or not residing in the U.S., fuhgeddaboudit.

I rather like the game and soundtrack and pretty tired of "Wiifanboy" bashing this game one way or another.
Why don't you go write for Sony or Xbox fanboy sites.
wildweasel @ Feb 9th 2008 7:05PM
I must agree with Ryudo - the music is not that bad, for those of us who occasionally enjoy that sort of thing. We're not all metal-heads/electronica-geeks/rappers/country-western people.
I was also once addicted to the introduction theme from the first Kingdom Hearts. True story.

For god's sake, lay off the writers! Nobody can even make the slightest disparaging remark on this website, comedic, sarcastic or serious, without people insulting their opinions and putting them down. Honestly, you people need to wake up and realise that you are reading a blog, which is by definition an opinionated slant on what's happening.
You all should already know that the writers aren't huge fans of this game, so stop working yourselves up everytime they reinforce their opinion.
wildweasel @ Feb 9th 2008 8:12PM
Thing is, though, I didn't know they didn't like the game. I don't come here that often. The one thing you can do to make this a better place is to quit assuming that people know things.
CSP @ Feb 9th 2008 7:34PM
That's Hayley Westenra mind you, one of the BEST voices on this planet (coming into sharp contrast with the "i want to sing too" R&B - the music abominations) a 20 year old girl, the youngest UNICEF ambassador in existence. Regardless of the above, I am not going to comment on your disregard of what some people tend to call TRUE MUSIC, but on your inappropriate comments that ended up insulting that tiny minority of people who actually took notice of the game the moment they HEARD the trailer.
Michael K. @ Feb 9th 2008 8:14PM
holy crap, you were right about the mute button, awful music, but i love entering contests
clif @ Feb 9th 2008 9:51PM
Anybody who has played the game knows you can use your own music by uploading viva a sd card ;-) So you can play foo fighters or the pretenders brass in the pocket or! miles davis or! any song i dunno what people's music tastes are?!?!? nobody has mentioned this before so i thought it made be added
saylorsgang @ Feb 9th 2008 10:17PM
I agree the music get annoying after awhile, but I still love the game, great way to relax after No More Heros or SMG.

I don't care if NWFB bashes games I enjoy 'til the end of time, but this is a game site and therefore I feel they have no reason to be a judge of what is good music. Nobody comes here for their opinion on music, it's for their opinion on game. I usually defend NWFB here because the point of this site is to state their opinions... ON GAMES. But the moment they start saying an artist is god-awful, they are stepping out of their area and almost making an assumption that the artist has no talent. At the very least, when it comes to something non-gaming, the staff should be very clear that it's their opinion, because whether they enjoy this music or not, she's a talented artist.
Geez, at least I will admit when an artist has talent, even if I dislike his/her music...
Max Headroom @ Feb 9th 2008 11:48PM
I really enjoy that music. Enya is a longtime favorite of mine and this Hayley Westenra seems pretty good too. It might seem strange to some people, but my favorite musical genres are probably black metal, melodic death, and industrial. So my playlists end up with bands like Emperor, In Flames, :wumpscut:, and Enya.
GCNSean @ Feb 9th 2008 11:52PM
Man, why do you have to ruin a article with stupid comments about the games music. Its a very relaxing song and it fits the game. I am sure Nintendo will be happy to know that your promoting their contest and bashing a 20 year old girl who sings a song on their game... And you guys call yourselfs fanboys...
Orion @ Feb 10th 2008 1:39AM
that's when ive been saying. people can bash us all they want for saying they should be able to say what they want, but in the end of the day, they act nothing like what their site's name defines. I'm not saying they need to like everything, but sometimes it seems like they are just being cold, harsh, and overly negative.
i liked the game, i liked the music. so sorry these editors dont have big enough hearts to understand the game or the music that this girl sings. i think both are beautiful.
Jonathan Tran @ Feb 10th 2008 12:08PM
Just wanna say, this game has great writing. Very dry humor.
Rich @ Feb 10th 2008 2:06PM
I actually like the music too.
As a "fanboy" site, by definition, shouldn't this site be putting a positive spin on everything Wii?
Just_a_guy @ Feb 10th 2008 5:52PM
I too like the music, and would get it on itunes if it were there and I felt like it.
eugaet @ Feb 11th 2008 9:53AM
I'm going to have to agree w/ everyone who says the music is great. I could listen to Hayley Westenra all day. Just that one song definitely helped make it a must buy...and I haven't been disappointed in the least.
I still have the itch to load some Motley Crue off the SD card, though. Just want to see how it will affect my exploration.
gevenstaines @ Feb 11th 2008 7:38PM
"God-awful Enya-esque"
fuck you, she's a talented vocalist
Bighouse @ Feb 12th 2008 4:45PM
Not to beat a dead horse, but that comment was pretty unnecessary. Endless Ocean has a fantastic soundtrack that fits the game perfectly, and even if you don't like it, you can listen to your own MP3s. Quit griping.
